A Sharks Tale

Well scuba diving has become a distant memory since the birth of children. So what best to do on a day off work than to take the boys to a Sealife Centre. We figure we might as well start getting them used to the underwater world given that we certainly intend on getting back to diving one day (with the two boys).

Brandon stretching his legs walking over the floor projections.

Spot the little head poking up in the piranha tank?

Joshua watching a little shark sleep.

Me and my boys walking through the shark tunnel.

Joshua giving his brother a farewell kiss before the shark in the background decides to take its pick!

"Here sharkey, sharkey" - Joshua not content with the fish in Sealife Centre wanted to see where the fish normally live.

And then to end the day it was into the arcades for a few rides.

Poor Brandon enjoyed the day as much as he could, but the poor lad is going through a major teething bout at the moment and has been in pretty bad shape for the last 2-3 days. Fingers crossed it will all be over soon and he will have as many pearly whites as those sharks to help tuck into his food.

Little Kickers Part II

Last week the boys enjoyed the joint ride on the fire engine, this week it was this colourful little 4x4 vehicle.

The boys are at that great age where it is easy to buy matching clothes for both their sizes. Here is the latest addition to their wardrobe, some matching skull and cross bone fleeces.

As promised last week we have an update on the Little Kickers football club. Joshua went back today for his official first lesson and also to get his first ever club football kit. How cool does my little dude look in his new kit.

Beckham move over, theres a new kid in town.

After all that activity today the little guy was pretty tired out. He decided not to have an afternoon nap but ended up taking some chill time on the sofa watching Fireman Sam! Usually I don't like him sitting down watching much telly, but given that he had been football, then to Brentwood to watch me run, then spent all afternoon playing in the garden - I felt it was only fare he had some down time.

FEED ME!

For all those that doubted yesterdays blog update where I told you Brandon was feeding himself - here is the evidence!

And Joshua tends to get a bit jealous if I only take pictures of Brandon, so here are some of Joshua eating his pudding as well.

Twins

Check out my boys in the matching t-shirts. The question is - who is the No.1 brother?

The big update with Brandon is that tonight at the dinner table he was showing very little interest in his dinner. So whats special about that you ask? Well after getting fed up with trying to feed him I decided to give him the spoon and let him get on with it - and that's exactly what he did. So now we have a fantastic video of him dipping his spoon into the yogurt pot and feeding himself. He ate the whole pot pretty much on his own. And even more surprising is the fact that I think this might be the first dinner time where he hasn't passed wind as well!!!

Little Kickers

Well the report back from "Little Kickers" football club is very positive. Whilst Joshua wasn't really dressed for footie practice they allowed him to join in for his 1st week free of charge. For about the first 2-5 mins he went a bit shy, but before long he was running riot, kicking balls everywhere and generally have a real good time. Of course Dad's have to participate to help their children out, so I also had a blast running around with all the kiddies. So after a successful first day we are going to sign Joshua up for six weeks initially and then see how it goes after that. Next week he will start his first proper session and he will also get his first ever club football kit.

Check out the little guys dribbling skills and ball control. Being encouraged on my coach and Dad!

Brandon watched from the side lines but still managed to grab hold of one of the balls for a play.

As you can see here he was leaving his old man for dust!

And then the pinnacle of the session was his outstanding goal scoring. I think he put 3 out of 4 in the back of the net.

The proud Dad celebrating his sons goal in the background.

So I guess this is the start to many years of forking out for various children's clubs and chauffeuring the boys around has started early for me. Not that I mind as I was one proud Dad taking Joshua to his first ever footie club.

Little Fireman

Well to start today's blog update here is an interesting picture of Joshua. Why is it interesting? Well two reasons. Firstly the wooden thing he is holding is his new puppet which he made at nursery this week, and secondly, his new Fireman Sam top. Believe it or not I designed this and made it myself for the grand sum of around £1.50!!! When Joshua woke up and saw it hanging up in his bedroom this morning he got very excited and ran straight over to it saying "I like fireman Sam!".

Nowadays part of our weekly town routine is to let Joshua go on the little fairground ride in the town centre. Well for the first time today we let Brandon go on it with his bigger brother. Both boys were strapped in plus they allowed me to sit next to the boys to make sure they were ok.

So here are my two little fireman off to save the day (or pull a cat from a tree at least).

Brandon soon got the hang of the steering wheel.

The latest garden toy for the boys is a pair of small football goals. Here is a nice little picture of Brandon shooting a few balls at the back of the net. He is just fine tuning his skills ahead of this years World Cup.

On the subject of football tomorrow we are going to check out a "Little Kickers" football club for Joshua to start attending. It sounds really exciting, so check in for the next blog update to see how it goes.

Since we were out in the garden today Brandon got his first taste of lots new things, playing with sand, walking on grass, sitting on the see-saw etc.etc.

Here are some pictures of the two boys playing in their sand pit.

I think the little man likes messy play judging by the grin on his face.

And here is Brandon about to destroy his first ever sand castle!

Want a drink?

Poor Brandon is a bit like a pin cushion right now. What with his 1 year injection two weeks ago, his swine flu jab last week and then this week his MMR which was another two injections, one in each arm.

But onto something more positive, look who has learnt to drink from his beaker all on his own.

And if you dare try and wrestle his cup away from him then this is the snarl he will give you!!!

And if he is not drinking from his beaker then he is guzzling some of Mummies or Daddies juice from the glass.

Bouncy Bouncy

This is what Sunday mornings are all about - finish your breakfast and then sit down with a coffee / bottle of milk and read the newspaper.

As Spring begins to break the long cold winter is behind us and it looks like the boys sledges will not get used until next year. However it is now time to start planning the outdoor activities to keep the boys fit and healthy in the garden. The first purchase was made this weekend and was an 8ft trampoline. As you can see both boys have been on it already and really enjoy it.
The ladder and enclosure make it as safe as it can be for the little dudes.

It may be spring but it was still cold out and so Brandon was well wrapped up with coat and gloves.
