Joshua's Leaving Day

So whilst me and Brandon were travelling to Belgium last Friday, Joshua had his leavers day at school. Who can believe that he has actually finished school now and only needs to go in for the final exams????? I called him from Belgium to see how it went and what his school shirt was like – the response I got was that his shirt probably needs to be hidden away. When he sent me the picture  could see why!!! There were multiple drawings of male genitals ands Nazi Swastika’s which was bad enough, but the really bad bit was someone had written down the front of his shirt “I eat cum for fun!”. Not happy!!!! Anyway he seemed to enjoy his final day and the end of year assembly sounded quite emotional with various teachers breaking out in tears (not sure Joshua’s Spanish teach was too upset to see him leave – but that’s a different story). So after half term the challenge is now to make sure he actually does some revision ahead of his remaining exams.

What ever happened to just signing your end of year school shirt?
Tina wasn't impressed as loads of pictures emerged of Josh with girlies.

And another. Just don't read what is written on the top of his shirt!

Holly's Year 5 Concert

Today I had the pleasure of ducking out of work for the afternoon to go and watch Holly in her Year 5 Concert at school. I have to really treasure these end of year assemblies, shows, concerts etc as Josh and Brandon are long past these and Holly probably only has another year or two of these.

Todays concert was really amazing with a wide selection of songs that the kids had learned really well. It lasted over 30 mins and all the the kids had a couple of sections where they would take to the center stage and then other parts where they contributed from the side of the stage.

Holly was beaming all the way through the concert and seemed to be thoroughly enjoying herself. Tina is in for a treat as she gets to see the concert in tomorrow's showing.

Holly's Year 5 school concert.

She is looking so grown up, not many more years of these events for us to enjoy.

Amazing how well the kids learnt 30 minutes of songs plus dance moves.

Super proud of my little girl.

This part made me chuckle. Great choreography.

Belgium Tour Ready

2 days and counting before me and Brandon head off for his Academy football tour in Belgium for the bank holiday weekend. Really looking forward to spending some quality time with him and hopefully watching some good football and have a few father-son rum and cokes at the end of each day!!! At football training today the lads all received their Belgium Tour hoodies which look absolutely fantastic.

Brandon all set for his football tour in Belgium this Bank Holiday weekend.

Joshua's GCSE Update

Joshua is now well in to his end of year GSCE's and counting down the number of full days left at school. It seems unbelievable that he only has 8 or 9 days left and then finishes school for study leave during the remaining GCSE's. So far he has completed his Spanish speaking, History paper 1, Math's paper 1 and tomorrow he has Chemistry (1 of 3 science papers). I am pleased to say that he has finally started knuckling down and doing some revising, I just hope it isn't too little too late.

Joshua has two college courses provisionally lined up for Electrical Installation but he has to get 4x GCSE's of which 2 of them MUST be Math's and English. I still find it hard to believe what a big year it is for our first born with GCSE's, leaving school, hopefully starting college and then even more scary - the fact that he starts to learn to drive in October. Where did the years go?????

We are going to let him get these GCSE's out of the way as his immediate priority, but once they are done we are going to be doing everything we can to try and get him into a part time job or weekend work to give him some extra cash to go towards college life and driving lessons etc.

Holly's School Trip to Chelmsford City Museum

Holly recently had a school trip to Chelmsford City Museum which she seemed to thoroughly enjoy. She came back with loads of useful facts and history which she had learnt during her trip. The only downside appeared to be the coach trip as she said the kids behind her were kicking her chair! Anyway the teachers sent through a nice picture of the class outside the Museum.

Brandon's School Awards Keep Rolling In

Brandon has been really knuckling down at school and his hard work is starting to show as he has been receiving multiple awards lately. Firstly he has received an English Head of Department Award, then he was nominated for a Geography Star, then the icing on the cake was an amazing email we received from the school this week for an English Lesson Legend Certificate for dedication to studies and going above and beyond expectations. Just amazing and great to see he is positioning himself well for his GSCE's next year.
