Twos Company, Threes Trouble

Not so long ago Brandon split his eye open by charging around the living room and slipping over head first into a TV cabinet. Well no sooner has his injuries healed up and Joshua has gone and trumped him. Once again charging around the house like a bull in a China shop he has slipped on the conservatory floor smacking his head into the chair and splitting his eye open. He definitely trumped Brandon in terms of severity and ended up down A&E for a few hours with Mummy and Auntie Nicky to get his eye glued up (fortunately no stitches required).

Battle scars from charging around the house like a bull in a China shop. Should be a good shiner tomorrow.

This was before a visit to A&E. It actually looks a lot better now it is glued together, but the doc says he will have a scar.
The weekend wasn't all bad though. We had a visit from some of the relatives from Norfolk and this meant the boys got to spend some time with their second cousin, Layla. The three of them get on really well together and had a fun weekend. We even managed to get a guest pass for Layla so that she could go swimming with the boys at the David Lloyd. Also the boys Christmas games table got plenty of use as the boys showed Leyla all the various different games. Brandon's two favourites are the table tennis and basketball, so Layla was privileged to get some one on one tuition from the little chuckles himself.

Brandon teaching Layla how to play ping pong. Brandon is actually getting very good at this now and can string together a rally of about 5 shots.

Then it was basketball. Leyla really struggled with this at first, but after a few slam dunks they were both shooting hoops.

Action shot - going for a 3 pointer.
What a shot. Looks like Brandon's coaching worked.
After a day of swimming, playing and charging around like lunatics, all three kids were absolutely shattered. Layla and Joshua were adamant that Layla was staying for a sleep over so we decided to let them top and tail in Joshua's bed. Brandon wanted none of this and insisted on sleeping in his own bed on his own. So a late night and only half way through a story and they are both out for the count. Albeit poor Layla is stirring a bit due to Joshua's snoring (which he denies doing just like his Mum!).

Sleeping beauties. As well as Joshua's snoring Layla said Josh had cold feet!
After the boys football club today we got the 3 of them together for a rare picture. How quickly they seem to grow up. I still find it amazing that there is only a day difference between Layla and Joshua in terms of their age.

It was lovely to have Layla staying with the boys for the weekend and they thoroughly enjoyed it. But boy is it hard work with 3 of them! I think I'll stick to two.

The boys were still wearing their football kits in these pictures as they had their usual Sunday morning down the Little Kickers. Joshua had his first lesson in the big boys class for over 4 year olds. He did extremely well considering there was some new skills to learn and lots of new faces. He settled very quickly though as one of his best mates (Tommy) is in that class and the two of them are like two peas in a pod when they get together. Sometimes I actually wonder if they distract each other more than help each other along!
