Dorset - Sandford Park Day 5 - High Wires, Swimming, Go Karts & Fun Fair

Day 5 of our holiday and we decided to spend a day on the camp site as we had been out and about everyday and everyone was feeling a bit exhausted. So we started our day with the 3 kids booked on to the hire wire's. I decided not to go on myself to save money and trusted that Holly would be ok if she went around in between Josh and Brandon for if she needed help. The two boys flew around the high wires with no problems but Holly was much more tentative and needed quite a bit of encouragement from the ground. In her defence she completed the all of the obstacles and then finished on the zip wire.

After lunch we then booked a slot in the outdoor pool for the first time which had a small water slide suitable for Holly. We pretty much just messed around playing with floaties and throwing balls around. It was actually really nice to have a family swim as public swimming pools have been closed for anything other than swimming lessons for so long that we haven't had a family swim in about 18 months.

In the afternoon the kids wanted to hire one of the go-karts for an hour so we opted for a 4 seater. Brandon, Josh and Holly took it in turns steering with Brandon having a damn good attempt at rolling the thing over!!!! After an exhausting day of activities we headed out to a local McDonalds for an easy dinner and on the way back stopped in a fun fair. Bad idea for Josh and Brandon who were starting to feel a little "blue" after just 3 rides after having just stuffed their faces at McDonalds.

All geared up and ready to start Day 5 with the high wires.

After the briefing the get hooked on and head up.

Brandon leading the way with Josh hanging back to help Holly.

Holly's turn to be brave, so much for the "don't look down"!

Brandon taking his time on the log step.

This wasn't really challenging enough for Josh.

Holly needed lots of encouragement on this part as she keep tilting backwards and forwards.

Another tricky obstacle to step on the vertical logs.

Brandon steaming around the hire wires.

Holly gave it her best and was very brave all the way around.

At times the hardest bit was getting your harness carrier to slide across.

This one was a lot trickier than it looked.

Brandon helping Holly on to the landing pad.

Again no issues for Josh.

Another one where Holly needed lots of encouragement as the crossed logs moved a lot.

Nice picture of B up in the trees.

Trying not to fall.

For this one Holly held her safety line rather than use the hanging green hand ropes.

Brandon getting near to the final zip wire drop.

Is that excitement or terror in her face.

Josh played the big brother role well to get Holly around.

Another good pic of Brandon (and his skinny legs).

Nearly at the end.

Across the wobbly ladder and then it is the fun of the zip wire.

After lunch we had a bit of family fun in the heated outdoor pool.

There was a small water slide for Holly.

But this wasn't really thrilling enough for her.

As you can see it is quite small and not very high.

Messing around with our hot tub floaties.

Me and the boys chilling in the pool.

I found if you double up the floaties they make an armchair!

Holly taking an outdoor shower.

Then it was time to knacker your leg muscles on the go-karts.

Holly rightfully concerned at Brandon's driving as he nearly flips it!

About time the kids drove me around for once!

Uh Oh, warning lady driver on the loose.

After I while I gave up and just let the 3 of them play on the go-kart.

As always things got silly as we started racing around the roundabout to see who was quickest.

And we even briefly got Tina to go on it for a ride.

And the face says it all, she was petrified of Brandon's driving.

After a McDonalds it was time to hit the fun fair.

Swishing all that food around and starting to feel a bit "blue".

And if that doesn't work, the waltzer definitely does the trick.

Holly smiling, the boys trying to hide feeling sick with a smile.

Spider Holly.

Ending the fun fair with a go on the bumper cars.

Holly rode with Josh and didn't stop chuckling the whole time.
