Holly's 8th Birthday

It almost seems hard to believe, but today was Holly's 8th birthday. How can my little Princess be 8!!! She's had an absolutely fabulous birthday which started quite early with the typical birthday presents. Then shortly after that she had a crafty birthday party at our house with 8 or 9 or her best friends. They enjoyed loads of craft activities, some fun unicorn themed games and then some pizza and chips for lunch. To finish off Tina made a really nice rainbow sponge unicorn cake which went down really well.

After the party was finished we headed in to Wickford High Street for the Christmas market and the annual turning on of the Xmas lights. Holly enjoyed a few fairground rides and some crazy golf whilst we sipped on our mulled wine to keep nice and warm. To finish off Holly's 8th birthday we gave her a choice of what she wanted to do for dinner and all she wanted was a McDonalds!!!

Present wise Holly's main gift this year was a 4ft tall, 4ft ride L.O.L dolls house which took me about an hour and a half to assemble from flat pack. She also got a poppet game, some Lego, a foot spa thingy, some gem craft set, more dolls and loads more lovely presents.

Holly's cool reindeer themed bun haircut for her birthday.

The night before and all her presents are wrapped. Wish I had checked the doll house to realise it was flat pack.

The conservatory was decorated ready for her home craft party.

We bought this inflatable unicorn hoop game which went down a real treat with all her friends at the party.

Then there was a stick the horn on the unicorn game (which they all cheated at!).

Holly woke at around 7am and was very excited to go and open her presents.

A unicorn selfie frame for her party.

A gymnastics Barbie set.

Some Lego Friends which she wanted.

She was really excited about her Orbeez foot spa.

Rainbow dolls to go in the new L.o.L doll house.

And then the bog heavy one, what could it be?

It's the L.O.L doll house she really wanted with some 85+ accessories, elevator, car port, water slide, working fire etc.

Unicorn pinata filled and ready for the party.

Midday and all her friends arrive for a craft themed birthday party.

Sassy selfies....

More selfies of Holly's friends.

And more....

And more...

Tina organised all the crafts which includes painting pictures frames, unicorn window decorations, stickers for bags etc.

All the kids loved the inflatable unicorn hoop game.

The kids all painting their picture frames.

Vincent was the only one that playing the "stick the unicorn horn on" game fairly. Everyone else cheated by feeling where the stickers where!

Holly didn't cheat and was furthest away from the Unicorn head!

The kids taking it in turns to pull the strings on the piƱata. Not everyone got a go as the trap door opened after just 3 or 4 strings.

The kids getting ready to swarm around the sweets.

Finally the trap door opens.

And chaos follows.

The only quiet time we got was when I finally got them all sitting down for some pizza and chips.

Homemade unicorn cake which Tina made - very tasty indeed and looks real good.

Rainbow coloured sponge fillings.

At the Christmas market the birthday girl enjoyed a few fairground rides.

The two boys are too big for these rides, but Brandon did help Holly through the fun house.

They even had a little crazy golf which Holly and Brandon enjoyed (although it was now getting very cold over there).

Brandon had a nice warm coat on, but was still wearing his football kit from earlier with sliders!

Brandon's District Cross Country Championship's

Very proud of Brandon as once again he was picked for the school running team for the District Championships. He has trained very hard and even given up some of his football training to fit in extra sessions on a Saturday morning.

On Wednesday the District Championships were held over Basildon Sporting Village and the field was very competitive indeed. Brandon was racing against some 80+ kids and apparently got a bit boxed in at the start. He ended up placing around 50th with the best in his school being around 20th.

Holly's School Pics 2021

Got to see the proofs of Holly's school photos today and they looks amazing. Her first school pictures with her new glasses and she looks beautiful. How the hell do I narrow this selection down to 2 or 3????
