For weeks we have been saying that we must book Holly in to see Santa somewhere and just haven't got around to it until last night. So we started searching around and everywhere was fully booked leaving me feeling like a "bad Dad" for not arranging something a bit earlier.
Then today I was heading over to Barleylands with Holly to pick up some last minute bits before Xmas, and who did we meet? Yes the big man in red. Back to being a "good Dad" for me. Santa asked Holly if she had been good and also gave her some sweets for herself, her brothers (even though they weren't with us) and a Bounty for me. Happy days.
One thing that is really sweet about Holly this year is her understanding of Xmas. It's really not about the toys and gifts for her and she keeps on and on about Xmas being all about love and family. I asked her what she wanted for Xmas this year and she came up with four things:
1. A new phone
2. Her brother to get on better
3. Santa to bring her Nan back as she never got to meet her
4. Another dolls house!!!!!!!!
No.3 brought a tear to me eye and just shows the sensitive, caring side of Holly.
