Holly's 10th Birthday

As if I wasn't already feeling old - well as of yesterday I now have three children in double digit ages as Holly was 10. She has been so excited leading up to this birthday and giving us and the family regular countdowns. She had he alarm set for 7am to play "It's Your Birthday" by Will.I.Am which has become the staple birthday song on our house.

Anyway she had a bit of a wait in the morning before tucking in to her presents as we made her have breakfast first and whilst she did that I had my morning dunk in the cold plunge. Once she was ready for school and we knew everything was done, then it was time to tuck in to her presents.

Holly is at that funny age bridging the gap between a child/toddler and a teenage and on her birthday list was lots of toys. Over the last year we have noticed a drastic drop off in the amount of toys she plays in place of IPad's, TV's, phones etc. So whilst it might be a waste of money I kind of wanted to go ahead with the toys this year as I fear I am on borrowed time and her presents list is about to become very boring like the boys ones. I suspect next year Holly will just want clothes, money, make-up and electronic devices! So the end of the toy era is almost upon us.

We didn't have anything special planned for Holly's birthday as Tina was working latest, Brandon had football and Joshua had rugby. So as normal it was a usual manic Tuesday night in our house. However to make up for it she has a party in Flip Out in Lakeside this Sunday with a few of her school mates and some of the girls from her football team. After that we are going to head over to the Winter Wonderland for some rides and something to eat. So something for her to look forward too this weekend.

Presents all wrapped and balloons blown up the night before Holly's 10th birthday.
At first she was disappointed as she couldn't see any decorations put up for her special day.
But she was very pleased when she saw what we had done in the living room.
With breakfast out the way and everything ready for school it was time to tuck in to some presents.

She got an L.O.L doll set.

Which she was very happy with.

She got a couple of bits from the Schleich horse range toys including this car and horse trailer as well as a rather large house with stables.

I might live to regret this one, but yes we got her a new make-up set!

Nice to see her getting excited over toys, but is this the final year???

This little present was amazing and Holly loves it. Basically it is a special pen and drawing/painting software for her Nintendo Switch.

Of course she had to have something Stitch to go with her new Stitch bedroom. So we got her a mini figure set.
