Halloween Parade & Fireworks

To start the Halloween weekend we took a trip to Southend on Saturday night for the annual Halloween Parade and the seafront fireworks. The plan was to have fish'n'chips for dinner but as we were walking down the high street, the kids saw Taco Bell and decided that is what they wanted for dinner.

The Halloween Parade was really slow moving and even stopped completely a few times. The weather wasn't great and the longer we stood there, the heavier the rain got. So in the end we decided to abandon the parade and go and warm up in the arcades.

After a few arcades we were surprised to see the firework display still went ahead. So we stayed to watch the fireworks and then headed home just in time to miss a really bad terrential downpour!

A large wizard at the Southend Halloween parade.

We decided to view the parade from higher up so we were looking down on it rather than fighting the crowds.

Skeletons and eyeballs.

A rather tall skeleton.

"I ain't afraid of no ghost!".

I like the Ghost Busters car, but I would prefer this old Defender!

Some inflatables on the parade.

I didn't take many pics of the fireworks as I didn't want my phone to get unecessarily wet.
