Cancun Mexico 2025 Day 3

Day 3 in Cancun and we spent another day on resort still trying to adapt to the extreme humidity and heat whilst just relaxing and having some pool fun. Foolishly the kids didn't give their sun cream time to soak in yesterday before jumping in the pool and as such were a little bit sun burnt today. I however put my sun cream on and then just hung around for about 30-45 mins to let it soak in, and low and behold, I wasn't sun burnt. But the kids won't listen and insisted on getting straight in the pool.

Due to the kids sun bun when I woke up to go for my morning sea dip and coffee I did the very Germanic things and took some towels down and reserved us 2 of these canopy type things with 4 sun beds. At least Tina and the kids would have somewhere they could sit outside and be out of the sun whilst still enjoying some family time by the pool.

The hotel had a Mexican themed night with shows, Mexican food etc.etc. Needless to say out came my rather vivid Temu Mexican Hawaiian shirt. The evening entertainment was one of those silent disco's which is something I have never experienced before. A little weird seeing people dancing and raving with headphones on but not ambient music outside. There was 3 channels of music but to be honest none of it was our cup of tea (especially for Brandon), so we didn't last long with this.

It was quite handy that we weren't in to the silent disco as we needed an early night anyway due to getting up at 4:30am tomorrow to go to Chichinitza.

Usual morning dip in the sea for me whilst the others are all still sleeping.

And another spectacular sun rise.

This is how every day should start.

Feeling on top of the world after my morning dip.

Even solar panel Brandon was keeping covered up today as he had too much sun yesterday.

So clearly Josh was taking precautions in the sun.

Yesterday we dusted of Holly's inflatable donut, today it was our floating lounger chairs.

Pool fun.

Brandon trying to chill but getting tormented by Tina.

Poor lad trying to look all cool and his Mummy not leaving him alone.

Holly on the floatie.

And Brandon.

Finally I get to have a chill on one of them.

Fully in holiday mode now!

Me and H relaxing in the pool.

I managed to reserve us two of these sun shades for day as the kids were a bit burnt from yesterday.

We actually got to quite like using these and thus I ended up getting a couple most days when we were down by the pool.

Just a nice way to be outside and enjoying the holiday without getting more sub burn,

Rarely will Holly be out of the pool and just sitting around though.

Do they really need to put signs saying the floor may be slippery when wet actually in the pool???

Earlier in the day me, Brandon and Holly took a walk along the beach to a pretty big Mexican flag.

Holly and Brandon at the Mexican flag on the beach.

Then me, H and Brandon at the flag. What do you think of my pink shark shorts?

Inside the buffet restaurant for some lunch.

Freshly made tortillas. Yum.

Never seen blue salt before.

This picture isn't very clear but it is a really cute little blue and yellow bird which we saw regularly by the pool.

Holly trying todays paddle board balance activity whilst being rocked by the entertainment crew. She didn't last long at all.

In the Caribbean restaurant tonight this dude made me one of the specialty cocktails to try.

Not sure what it was, but it tasted very good.

Sitting outside in the Caribbean for dinner. We ended up moving inside though as there was a threat of rain and we were starting to get eaten alive.

Starter.

Steak again.

Sassy H.

Some drinks at the silent disco.

Not impressed with the choices of music.

Brandon more interested in his phone.

And Josh.

Me and wifey. What do you think of my Mexican shirt (special purchase from Temu).

Cancun Mexico 2025 Day 2

Day 2 of our holiday and we all had a great nights sleep after yesterdays long day of travel. We spent our first full day just messing around in the hotel pools and familiarising ourselves with the resort.  I was up a little earlier than the others and took a walk down to the beach to watch the sun rise and to have a quick morning dip whilst stopping by the café for a nice double espresso (not quite as good as my Skull Crusher coffee, but still pretty decent).

In addition to yesterdays racoon we were astounded by the number of lizards around the resort some of which seemed very brave climbing up on to your sun beds etc. The kids spent the morning in the main pool whilst me and Tina met the Tui rep to get some intel and to book some excursions. Then in the afternoon we headed up to the infinity pool closer to the beach and a little quieter. Holly also explored the little kids water park on-site and I participated in a little surf board challenge with the entertainment crew.

In the evening we managed to get a booking in the a La Carte steak house which was pretty amazing. The steak was so good and washed down with plenty of tequila made for a very pleasant and chilled evening.

Early morning for me to go and catch the sun rise above the sea and to have a quick dip before the others all got up.

The beach looked amazing early morning and not another person in site.

More on the beach.

View looking back at part of our hotel from the beach.

Even the water didn't look too bad with minimal sargasm today.

Another picturesque route from the beach to the hotel.

Tropical paradise. Once again we did good picking a very nice, safe and family friendly resort.

Family and lizard friendly.

Me and Tina all ready to start getting some sun. Shark shirt, shorts and sliders!

Holly keen to get in the pool as usual.

Brandon trying to seek shade from the 30+ degree weather.

I think the lizard likes a bit of Danielle Steel.

Tina cooling off in the infinity pool.

Holly's well travelled inflatable donut is still going strong and made another journey to Mexico.

Along with our little American football which always provides hours of entertainment (plus the odd argument).

Action shot of Brandon throwing the ball.

And Holly.

Rare occasion for Josh to have his shirt off. It didn't last long though as he was soon sun burnt even with factor 50 on.

Tina and Brandon in deep conversation on the edge of the infinity pool.

Mojito time!

Me and H enjoying our hols.

Great picture of Brandon looking out on the beach from the infinity pool.

And then Holly's turn.

I never get tired of that view on holiday.

Incoming top up of the drinks.

Holly, Tina and Brandon enjoying some cocktails in the pool. Tina with a Blue Hawaiian.

Josh feeling the heat already and having to don the hat and shirt.

Holly exploring the kids splash park.

The slides weren't huge. But it was enough for her to have a little play and a break from the main pools.

Splashdown.

And back up again.

And splashdown again.

No sign of any real crocs or gators yet. Just this large plastic one.

Holly at the top of one of the water slides.

And splashing down again.

None of the pools seemed particularly busy which was nice.

More kids water slides.

Holly having fun.

And more fun.

And more fun.

Power shower!

We found this rather artistic hexagon feature on the beach which was great for photo shots.

And yes the Rogue boonie made its way to Mexico as well.

I was robbed on the paddle board challenge on the main pool.

I went flying down the pool. The kids said I was quick. But no time given and they gave the win to someone else!

The pose shot sitting on the side of the infinity pool.

Me and B. This year I beat him on the abdominals having shed 2 stone from last years holiday.

Afternoon drinks in one of the pods before heading to the steak house for dinner.

Then time to hit the steak house.

I think Holly hasn't quite adjusted to Mexican time zone.

Some lovely read win to go down with the steak.

Me and H.

Brandon and Tina at dinner.

Then Josh and Holly (would have been easier for me to ask someone to take a picture of all 5 of us!).
