Day 5 and a much needed chill day in the hotel pools after yesterdays long day out. Holly dusted off a but of snorkel practice in the pool and also had a go at the table pong cup bounce game. As usual I had my morning dip in the sea and then me and Brandon also spent a bit of time at the beach in the afternoon.
We also discovered a local delicacy which was absolutely devine. Basically it was a mango lolly pop covered in Tajin spice and Chamoy. Since arriving home we have had to buy some Tajin and Chamoy as it is so nice and pretty much goes with everything.
In the evening we enjoyed a VIP cocktail party for TUI guests which had this incredible violin player along with some specialty drinks and canopies to eat/drink whilst we participated in a music song quiz. Clearly we have a very diverse taste in music between me, Josh, Brandon and Tina and amazingly ended up winning the quiz and receiving a bottle of bubbly. At first the event felt really uncomfortable as they laid out a red carpet for us and has the management team for the hotel all lined up and clapping in appreciation as we entered the VIP area. We then had an opportunity to talk to each of them and tell them what we thought of the hotel, Mexico, the staff etc. Despite initially feeling uncomfortable we actually had a really good start to the evening here - but perhaps that was the drinks!!!
We finished the day off with dinner in the A la carte Taj India restaurant, the food was ok but not the best of the A la carte's.

One thing I loved in our hotel was the hat/bag stands which were available in the restaurants. The boonie was a happy bunny. |

The pool bar was probably the only real negative with the hotel and often had long waits. Needless to say we didn't use it much. |
