Driving Range

Every Christmas there is always that one small present which has that unexpected wow factor that captures your attention. This year that present has to be a toy called Geomag which is basically a magnetic building blocks set. This stuff is so easy to build with and is so addictive once you get started. Fortunately both Joshua and Brandon have their own set so there is no fighting over who gets to play with it. Both boys have been busy building spinners, cafes, houses, cubes, etc.etc.

And Brandon's - which looks more like a lantern or bird cage.

Both boys with their Geomag constructions.
No particular reason for adding the next picture other than the fact that it was one of those rare moments when both boys are happy, getting on with each other and prepared to smile for the camera.

Anyway this blog title is about the driving range. I have already taken Joshua to the range to hit some balls, but Brandon had not been until today. I decided to buy the boys a small iron that they could use rather than destroying my clubs. Brandon got to borrow an even smaller 8 iron from the range. So armed with a bucket of 75 balls off we headed for a golf ball bashing session, Joshua was his usual impatient self and would not set himself up for a shot and hence rushed a lot and missed the ball many times. He was keen to show his little Bro what to do down the range, but as it turned out Brandon is a bit of a natural.

Normally on the blog when I brag about the boys it is usually along the lines of, like Father like Son. However in the case of Brandon and golf that clearly isn't the case because Brandon looks like his has some natural talent and might actually be pretty good (unlike his Dad). He didn't rush like Joshua and before each shot he looked up at me and asked if this was right. Basically all I showed him was the feet and hand positions and he was off. Don't get me wrong he wasn't tonking the balls miles. But he was hitting the ball first time nearly every time and he was getting them up over the gravel and onto the grass. You can't ask for much more on his first proper gold experience.

The after show pose as he watches his ball travel through the air.

Pretty much all of his balls cleared the gravel trap and went out onto the grass which is pretty good for a 3 year old.
