2014 School Nativity Play

Tonight I had the great pleasure of attending the evening showing of the boys annual Christmas Nativity play and it didn't disappoint. The play was witty and funny and all the kids did the school and their parents really proud. Brandon had a relatively small part this year as one of the many narrators. Joshua was one of the three wise King's (King by name, King by nature) and had a slightly larger role in the play. In addition to learning their individual lines they also had about 5 or 6 songs to learn and sing. Brandon said his favourite one was "We Three Kings".

Brandon's only line in the play was:

"Unfortunately the traffic on the M25 was really heavy so they had to take the high speed train"

I only managed to get the one picture of Brandon when he stepped up to deliver his line.
Joshua's lines were a bit more challenging, especially his last one:,

"We wondered if you would help us out with somewhere to stay for the evening. We have travelled for days"
"He is the son of god, the new King if King's"
"Of course"
"We have brought some precious gifts to celebrate his birth"
"I bring myrrh, a fragrance to symbolise death"
"I had the weirdest dream during my nap earlier... An angel spoke to me and told me that Herod you know the King we stayed with? Well the angel told me that he wants the baby killed and we should avoid him at all costs"

Joshua enter the stage wearing his King costume.

The three Kings all talking as the evil King Herod looks on.

The King's deliver their gifts to the new baby Jesus with Joseph and Mary.
Staying with the festive theme Auntie Nicky and Uncle Paul dropped of the kiddies advent calendars earlier today and as usually had spoilt them. The boys got a ginger bread cookie with edible paint which they have decorated ready to take to the Winter Wonderland tomorrow. Holly got a beautiful teddy bear onesie which she seemed more than happy wearing and has gone to bed in it tonight.

Brandon sets to work painting his ginger bread cookie.

And Joshua doing his design.

Brandon's finished design - apparently it is a Father Christmas.

Joshua has tried to paint a festive penguin.

Almost camouflaged with the sofa. Such a cheeky grin.

I told you she was a happy little girl in her new onesie.
