End of Year Football Presentations

Another full on weekend with football as yesterday both Brandon and Holly had their end of year presentations. Given that they both play for different teams then this meant me and Tina had to divide and conquer with Tina going to Bartlett's Park with Holly and me going to the Warren with Brandon.

Finally summer arrived on presentation day as we basked in 26 degree heat which wasn't ideal for standing around in a field with minimal shade for their presentations. Me and Brandon had it good as his was very well organised and under a marquee. 45 mins and it was done and dusted and we were then off to the coaches parents house for a celebratory BBQ and pool party. At Brandon's end of year presentation the team were awarded the shield for their league win for a remarkable season that saw them do the double with the league and cup wins.

Holly's was organised far worse and despite being told to be there for 2pm, her presentation didn't start until gone 5pm leaving her and Tina very hot and bothered. Holly just wanted to get her medal and then head off to the BBQ and pool party. Both presentation events had a host of bouncy castles which both Brandon and Holly used. When I jokingly asked Brandon if he was going on the bouncy castles he commented back to me saying something like, "what do you think I'm about 6 years old". Then after the presentation his team mates went over to mess around on the bouncy castles and he soon followed just proving you are never too old. He also said he wasn't going in to the pool at the BBQ and ended up being one of the first ones in!!!

Brandon gets to hold aloft the league champions shield for the second year running.

Presentation day trophy, medal and some photo's from their cup win.

2023 League and Cup Champions.

Such a great group of lads.

Holly receiving her awards from coach Charlie and coach Jay.

More from Holly's presentation.

Holly's Wickford Town U9's which has grown so much they are splitting in to two teams for next season.

Holly came away with two trophies, a medal and a lovely framed picture.

Just a tad too hot to be sitting around all afternoon.
