Maldon Tournament & Crazy Golf

At the weekend Brandon had yet another football tournament at Maldon Promenade with a very early start of 8am. His group was really tough and compiled of all Premiership / EJA teams. However Academy held their own against everyone coming away with 2 draws and 1 win from the group stage which left them needing to win a nervous penalty shoot out to qualify for the semi finals.

The penalty shoot out ended 4-4 after 5 penalties each and went in to sudden death. After about 4 or 5 rounds of sudden death our goal keeper Sam a penalty sending Academy in to the semi's. Unfortunately in the semi's the coach tried out a new strategy playing 3 at the back which really didn't sut the way we play and the boys were unfortunately beaten 3-0 by the team that eventually went on to win.

But no shame and another semi final against very good opposition.

During the 30 min matches I kept Holly occupied with a bit of crazy golf and also some gem mining.

Not quite sure why Brandon is running around with a flag.

Brandon in action at the Maldon tournament.

An amazing moment when the goal keep saves a sudden death penalty shoot out sending Academy in to the semi finals.

Meanwhile Holly was tee'ing off on the first.

She gave me a good run for my money at the start, sharing the holes pretty evenly.

Looking very stylish in her new prescription sun glasses.

On the pirate ship hole which Holly won.

For once she actually played proper rules with no cheating.

No surprise I won the shark hole and actually got a hole-in-1.

H on the Maldon crazy gold course.

Posing in front of the fountain.

We had good fun, but I won in the end. We lied though as if children win then they get a free icecream!

After golf Holly wanted to mine some gems.

She loves gem stones and bought loads in America. I think she has over 100 now.

Two bags later.....

......and Holly has two bags of gems to add to her collection.
