Last Monday Brandon finally got his top braces fitted. He was supposed to get both done but for some reason they decided to only do the top and will fit the bottom another day. It's actually quite handy that they didn't do both as he really struggled with them for 2 or 3 days and was only really eating soup and protein yoghurts. He seems ok now and just comments that it constantly feels like he is wearing a gum shield. No pictures I am afraid as he remembers the picture I took of Joshua's braces and said there's no way I am posting something like that.
Joshua now has both braces and regularly goes back to get them tightened/adjusted but we have an on-going battle with Joshua and his braces as every time we take him back to the orthodontist that threaten to take them out as he isn't cleaning them properly. We are now on last chance saloon so I am having to police him and make sure he cleans them 3 times daily with a mix of electric toothbrush plus his braces brush. I am also trying to encourage him to use mouthwash regularly but fighting a losing battle on that one.
