So you might have noticed that for the first time in over 10 years there is a severe lack of Elf on the Shelf posts from me. This is primarily because with Holly nearing the end of Year 6 and moving to secondary school, she has obviously now found out that Santa isn't real and that it is Mum and Dad who buys the presents and does the Elves antics. We have told her that she should still believe in the spirit of Xmas even though she knows that Santa isn't real.
And so that brings an end of an era for me as all 3 kids now know about Santa and I have to say it is a relief to not be panicking about an Elf on the Shelf idea at 11pm each night and to also have some open conversations about Xmas. Holly has now adopted her Elf as yet another teddy for her bedroom and has even purchased a blue dressing gown outfit for her Elf.
