Day 5 Pettitt's

Day 5 was a little bit of a let down as we drove for nearly an hour to go to Pleasurewood Hills only to find out it is now out of season and only open at weekends. With two very irritated toddlers in the car we quickly recovered the situation with the help of sat nav and located another animal/theme park called Pettitt's Animal Park.

Once in there one of the first things we found was these large slides and fearless Brandon was flying down next to his bigger brother.

Both boys watch a lot of Chugginton these days and thus Joshua was more than happy to take charge of a chugger and take his brother and old man for a leisurely chug around the park.

Soon after the train we found these old model T type cars and once again Dad was dragged along as the boys took me for a spin.

There were many other toddler rides at the park including a little roller coaster. I managed to get a reprieve for this one and Mum took to the helm with the boys.

Then there was a couple of smaller rides which the boys could ride on their own giving us both a break.

Here is Joshua practicing his Fireman Sam skills.

Onto the tea cups and Mum was called into action again. Joshua decided to ride solo, so Brandon and Tina teamed up in the second cup.

The park has a miniature railway which runs around the circumference. All four of us rode this and during the "chug" we manage to see a few of the animals as well.

The driver takes us across the bridge.

There is no let up on the trains theme as the boys then find this red chugger with two slides.

Given that Pettitt's is predominantly an animal park, as you have probably gathered it took quite some time before we could drag the boys off of the rides and into the animal park area. But eventually we got them there.

Here we are hand feeding some goats. Both boys got very close but neither were brave enough to feed the animals themselves.

Some miniature horses. I am sure that green sign next to Joshua says "DON NOT climb the fence".

Brandon checking out the birds. Looks like he is a leg man as these ones have some very long legs.

Brandon getting close to some of the other animals.

To end the day there was a pretty cool outdoor park which enabled the boys to burn off that final bit of energy before an ice cream and then the journey home.

Here is the fearless Brandon coming down one of the slide tubes.

Day 6 was probably the highlight of the holiday for me as we went to an absolute stunning place called Bewilderwood. Read more tomorrow and be prepared for a lot of pictures.
