Lego Pirate Ship Homework + Park Run Update

Holly is growing up so fast and quickly changing from a toddler to a little girl already. In our garden she can climb up the trampoline on her own and tries to join in with the two boys whenever they are playing. She loves the slide and swing and was even playing pirates up in the climbing frame/tower last week.

With no football today we decided to take the boys to Chelmsford this morning to compete in the junior park run again. Brandon started strong but then after about one and a half laps he got a stitch and had to soldier on to the finish. He still didn't stop even with a stitch and finished in a time of 11:56 placing 54th overall and 29th in his age group. Joshua had a storming race today and finished 30th overall, 17th in age group with a time of 10:17. He missed his PB by 6 seconds but today's course was longer than 2k! He was happy though as he had never finished that highly in his age group and he beat his friend Joaben who is 8 years old.

After the park run we let the kids have a play in Central Park as the weather was so good. Holly was giving me nightmares in the park area as she was climbing really high, crawling through tunnels and then coming down slides (completely fearless).

A little bum shuffle through this tunnel.

This term the boys homework has been based around various Pirate themed activities and today we decided to get them all completed. They had already both made their own pirate flag and a treasure map. So today we helped them complete there pirate lingo guide and then they had to build a pirate ship our of anything they wanted. I kind of figured why not just build one out of Lego and so that's exactly what we did.

Joshua and Brandon get to work on their Lego pirate ships.
Me getting stuck in with this piece of homework and enjoying it as much as the boys.
Joshua's pirate ship homework complete with plank, sea, island, flag pole etc,
Brandon's Lego pirate ship homework. I love the man on the plank holding a sword to the other Lego man on the plank.
