Newquay Day 2 - Tolcarne Beach

Our first full day in Newquay was absolutely gorgeous summers weather which meant we wanted to capitalise on the sunshine and explore some of the stunning cost lines and hopefully find a beach for the day. The day started with breakfast sitting in the sunshine outside the tent. Brandon was the last one up and for some reason decided to abandon his new camp bed and was squished at the end of his bedroom when we found him in the morning.

Once everyone was fed and washed we drove out to Fistral Beach to take in some of the sites and then ended up at Tolcarne beach for the day. At Tolcarne we enjoyed a nice picnic on the beach, made some sand castles, played in the sea, took out the inflatable boat, explored some caves, found lots of mussels, played some beach football and generally had a really nice day.

Me Holly and Josh enjoying breakfast out in the sunshine whilst Brandon was still sleeping.

Can you spot a Brandon? For some reason his new camp bed wasn't good enough so he squished himself down the end of the tent.

Finally all 3 kiddies up, shades on and ready to hit the beach.

Stunning scenery at Fistral Beach - you wouldn't believe you were in England.

More scenery, such a beautiful coastline.

Eventually we settled on Tolcarne beach for the day.

Action shot of Brandon.

Joshua taking a run in the crystal clear waters of Newquay.

The boys enjoying some fun in the sun at the beach.

I think Joshua is getting a little too big for the action man inflatable boat.

Beautiful blue see for as far as the eye can see.

Selfie of me and Josh at Tolcarne.

Joshua off exploring looking for sea life and mussels.

Brandon with his bucket going along the coast collecting various things which he planned to take home as pets.

Can you spot what Joshua and Brandon are looking at on this rock?

Yes it is absolutely smothered in mussels.

The boys started to fill the boat with mussels which they wanted to cook up for lunch.

More stunning Newquay scenery.

Joshua and Brandon exploring some of the caves.

One of the caves was a through cave which you could come out from the other side.

Holly not quite so sure about the dark, damp cave exploration.

Me, Joshua and Holly exploring on a nice beach walk.

More from our beach exploration.

New for 2016 with my sand castles - Brandon wanted a horse!!!!

I don't think this is a bad effort. We even added a carriage on to the horse.

Holly looking very dainty and lady like posing in her sand castle.

Joshua off for a snorkel in the crystal clear waters.

Holly did go in the sea for brief moments but still found it too cold for her liking.

Tolcarne got busier as the day went on. Such a lovely place.

Me giving Holly a pull along in the inflatable boat.

Joshua and Holly crammed in the inflatable boat and riding the waves.

After a long day at the beach we headed back to the tent to get some dinner and to freshen up before heading out for the evening. The kiddies were all dead keen to once again hit the arcades where Holly was becoming a bit of an addict on the 2p machines and really enjoyed spending all my money!
