Newquay Day 3 - Flambards

Day 3 in Newquay and we travelled out to Flambards Theme Park which is advertised as the best day out in Cornwall. The theme park has something for everyone with thrill rides, toddler rides, stage performers, a Victorian village, a dinosaur walk, an aeroplane display and a blitz war display. Further more on the day we went they had Rory Jackson who was the Michael Jackson impersonator from Britain's Got Talent performing on stage. Rory was pretty amazing and all 3 kiddies really enjoyed watching his performances. Amazingly Holly was allowed to go on pretty much all the rides except about 2 or 3 and so she had an absolutely fab day. She could even go on the roller coaster, log flume and the space thrill black hole ride. We were hoping to stay for the late night firework display as well, but as the heavens decided to open up and we had a 45 min drive back to camp, we decided to give it a miss. Before leaving we did treat ourselves to a rather nice Cornish Pasty dinner which was absolutely scrumptious.

Me and Holly riding on the carousel.

Joshua riding on a horse on the carousel.

And Brandon also joining us.

Can you spot Tina, Holly, Joshua and Brandon on the Rockin' Tug?

There they are.

The over sized Flambards deck chair.

Brandon sitting on the roller coaster ready for a good thrill.

Off we go, Josh in front, Brandon behind and Holly sitting in the middle with me.

Holly absolutely loved the roller coaster and ended up going on this about 3 or 4 times.

Me and the kiddies riding on the log flume.

Me, Holly, Joshua and Brandon about to get a good splashing on the log flume.

After a good soaking we are all still smiling and again Holly wants to go around again and again.

Brandon and Joshua ride on some aerial pedal helicopters.

Me taking Holly on the copters but her legs were too small so I had to do all the pedalling.

Despite pedalling on my own, me and Holly managed to catch up with the boys.

Anyone for Joshua's head for dinner?

Or even a Brandon head?

And even a Holly head. Where are her legs?

Brave Holly confidentially getting her picture done with the Flambards fox mascot.

She even went up on stage and had a little dance to win herself a prize.

Me and the kiddies ride on the hot air balloons.

Finishing a round of crazy golf at Flambards.

Tina and the kids riding on a little kiddie coaster.

The boys meet a triceratops in the dinosaur land.

Brandon with a raptor behind him.

And another creepy dino lurking in the bushes behind.

A life size t-rex.

Tina on the tea cups with Holly.

Joshua and Brandon on the space shuttle chair drop.

Exploring inside the amazing Victorian village where some scenes from Harry Potter were filmed. Brandon and Joshua were full of questions about the olden days as we looked around the exhibits.

The kids in another part of the Victorian village.

Beautiful part of the display with an old horse and carriage.

And how about this old fire engine from the Victorian days.

A rare family picture of all of us taken in the Flambards Victorian village.

Joshua and Brandon in the cockpit of Concorde. This was the original nose cone that was used for approval for the plane to go in to production.

Joshua takes to the wheel of an aeroplane.

All planes need a navigator, Holly to the rescue.

Some vintage cars and bikes also on display in Flambards.

Exploring the Blitz war display which was a bit noisy with sirens and bomb sounds going off in the background.

The kids meet the amazing Rory Jackson from BGT ahead of his stage performance. Apparently he is in such demand that they had to book him 2 years in advance.

Rory on stage doing his thing. Kept us entertained well into the evening whilst our Cornish pasties went down.
