Pontins Pakefield Day 2

Day 2 in Pontins and believe it or not we had to wake all the kids up as they were so tired from a busy day 1. In mine and Tina's bed you could literally feel every single spring and I was sure I would need Ibuprofen to get through the night, but surprisingly I had a good nights sleep as well. Once everyone was up, dressed and washed we all headed over to the S.S Victoria for a good old fashioned full English breakfast.

The highlights of Day 2 was go-karting around the site, then just before lunch Holly and Brandon went on a inflatable obstacle course for the little ones in the swimming pool. After lunch it was back to the pool as the two boys and Layla were booked on the Water Rollers.

In the evening we had dinner and then whilst the girls all went to the mini-disco, me, Steve, Josh and Bee all went to the games room and had a game of snooker. Steve was desperately trying to coach Joshua and give him plenty of pointers, but me and Bee were just too strong and won a tight game on the black ball.

Pontins Pakefield Day 1

This year we took two holidays with the kids back in May when we went to Cardiff for a long weekend and then Spain for 2 weeks. So we didn't really have too much planned for during the 6 weeks holiday. Then we got a very kind invite from Auntie Chris and Uncle Steve to join them for a long weekend at Pontins in Pakefield as a treat for the kids as they always struggle with what to buy them for their birthdays. The Pakefield site is in a really nice part of Lowerstoft about 13 miles South of Great Yarmouth and so took us under 2 hours to drive there.

Chris and Steve had booked half board so we had all inclusive breakfast and dinner catered for us which was fantastic value really. So to start the holiday we all met in McDonald's and had a bit to eat before entering on to the site. Our room wasn't ready until 4pm but we could use all the facilities and therefore we parked the cars up and got straight in to holiday mode with some crazy golf, trampolining and even went swimming before our room was ready.

The rooms themselves are 50's style chalets and very dated, but all you need is somewhere dry and warm with a bed to sleep in. The 3 kids absolutely loved the chalet though and they all stayed in one room that had two bunk beds, Joshua and Brandon went up top and Holly took one of the lower ones. Once we were settled in our room we headed over to the ship themed restaurant for dinner and then it was off to the mini disco, followed by evening entertainment and arcades.

All the kiddies (and Tina) were hooked on the 2p machines and winning tickets to exchange for gifts at the end of our holiday. Holly also really enjoyed the mini disco and was getting on like sisters with Layla. It was pretty amazing to see them two together this time as Layla was really taking on a big sister type of role with Holly and spent a lot more time with her than she did with Josh and Brandon.

Day was was very tiring indeed and I don't think the kids got to bed until close to 11pm by the time we got back to the chalet.
