Oh I Wish I Could be Beside the Seaside

So far we have had an amazing summer in the UK with temperatures well in to the high 20's for probably 4-5 weeks. In fact most of last week the temperature was over 30 degrees. I honestly can't remember the last time it rained and consequently the grass is just completely brown and dead. The heat wave has been nice an forecast to last another 4 weeks or so, but boy do we need some rain.

Anyway as last week was our final week at football before the summer break it means we have our weekends back for about 5-6 weeks and I don't want to waste a single one of them. As the weather was so hot this weekend we gave the kids a choice and they all wanted to go to the seaside. So we loaded the car with a picnic, all the beach toys and inflatables and then headed out to Shoeburry.

We had an absolutely lovely day on the beach making memories, playing with the canoes and inflatables and eating ice cream. Me and Holly went exploring and found loads of shells and cockles. Joshua bought himself a crabbing net and using some left over BBQ burger he bagged himself about 7 crabs and a load of shrimps.

All setup for our picnic on the beach.

Brandon using his canoe in sea water for the first time.

Holly didn't use her unicorn that much, in fact it probably took me longer to inflate than what she played on it.

Holly and B enjoying keeping cool in the sea water.

Just chilling and soaking up the rays.

Brandon giving his little sister a nudge.

Holly tried her hand at the boys canoe for the first time and absolutely loved it.

Meanwhile Brandon played on her unicorn.

Brandon and Holly canoeing in Shoeburry.

The two brown skinned solar panels of the family soaking up the rays.

Joshua was just interested in catching crabs and spent hours filling his bucket with his catches.

A proper little fisherman.

Me and Holly went off exploring for cockles and shells etc.

Holly with another buoy (I mean girl!).

No trip to the beach is complete without ice cream, Holly had a bubblegum ice lolly.

Brandon on his inflatable surf board.

Just a small selection of some of the many crabs that Joshua caught!!!!!
