Winter Wonderland Ice Skating

Last night we had a family afternoon at the Lakeside Winter Wonderland for a tad of ice skating and some nice festive food. This year it was only me, Holly and Brandon on the ice as Tina is not a big fan of ice skating and Joshua didn't particular enjoy it last year. So us 3 had 45 mins fun on the ice whilst those two stood watching and being boring. Holly wasn't as brave as last year and never really got on to do any free skating on her own, instead choosing to hold my hand all the time. That was until she saw an abandoned penguin which we subsequently stole for the last 15 mins of our skate. Amazingly in the 45 mins skate not one of us fell down once.

After the ice skating the kids all had a couple of rides each which were extortionately priced to put it bluntly. After Florida Holly has suddenly become very brave and really wanted to go on the big spinner ride, but unfortunately, she was not 1.4m and so Brandon went on that one on his own. Whilst the kiddies were on the rides me and Tina enjoyed a nice, mulled wine which was even more extortionate than the rides - a shocking £12 for two small, mulled wines!!!!!

After the rides we grabbed some nice festive food before heading home early as Tina had to work. Holly and Brandon both had some cheesy chips, me and Tina had a delicious Yorkshire pudding wrap Xmas meal and Joshua had a pulled port Yorkshire pudding wrap.

Winter Wonderland done for 2022 and just 2 days left before the big day.

2022 trip to Lakeside Winter Wonderland.

The same Xmas tree as last year, but still very pretty.

Me, Holly and Brandon started with a bit of ice skating.

Holly chose to hold my hand all the time until she stole a penguin.

Me and my little H-bomb.

Trying my best to encourage her to brave trying some free skating.

But instead she stole an abandoned penguin.

Love this picture of H with the Xmas rides in the background.

As usual Brandon was tricky to photo as he kept hiding his face.

But Tina did manage to catch him a couple of times.

The first ride was for Holly and Josh on the Elf Coaster.

Reaching the top.

And then spinning their way down.

Holly and Brandon went on the Waltzer.

Another nice piccy of H and B.

Brandon had to ride this suicidal contraption on his own, although Holly wanted to go on it.

Brandon had the whole ride to himself.

If you haven't tried a Yorkshire pudding wrap then it is worth a visit just for one of these bad boys.

Holly chose cheesy chips instead.

And then on our way home we took a walk past the New Orleans which we found out today is now closed as it has started sinking in the lake!!!
