Day 2 Agadir Morocco - Settling Into Resort Life

So, Day 2, and today was all about staying on resort, getting our bearings and properly settling into holiday mode.

In the morning, Tina and I headed off to meet the TUI rep and book a few excursions for later in the holiday, while the kids were left to their own devices to mess around in the main pool. I'm sure they were absolutely devastated that we weren't there to supervise them!

By now, we were already starting to get a real taste for the all-inclusive lifestyle. We were really enjoying the food, with plenty of choice available in both the main buffet restaurant and the lunchtime restaurant. The drinks were also flowing nicely, and unlike some all-inclusive resorts we've visited in the past, there was certainly no evidence of anyone watering them down. There was a good selection of both branded and unbranded drinks, so we were definitely well catered for in that department!

As you'll see from the pictures, the weather on our first full day looked quite cloudy, despite temperatures being close to 30°C. We were all applying sun cream, but because it appeared to be overcast, none of us went particularly mad with it. As a result, a few of us ended up getting a little more sun than we probably should have on Day 1.

It was only afterwards that we discovered that Agadir has a rather unique microclimate. The area enjoys what is often described as an almost "eternal spring" climate, but during the summer the cooler Atlantic waters can create a marine fog or mist along the coast, particularly in the mornings.

So, what we thought was cloud wasn't actually cloud at all—it was just a layer of mist! Unfortunately, the sun was still doing its thing behind it, which explained why a few of us had managed to get ourselves nicely roasted on our first day without even realising it. Lesson learned!

In the afternoon, Brandon and I decided to have a game of bocce. Naturally, I completely destroyed him and secured a comfortable victory! To be fair, he did eventually get his revenge later in the holiday, but for now, bragging rights were firmly mine.

After another enjoyable evening meal, we headed off to watch some of the evening entertainment, where we chilled out with a few drinks before eventually calling it a night.

Nothing too adventurous for Day 2, but sometimes that's exactly what you need at the start of a holiday—good food, plenty of drinks, a bit of sunshine and absolutely nowhere you need to be!

The main pool had a few of these large gazebos with mattresses right by the pool side.

There was an abundance of sun beds, loungers and shades and we never found a day where we couldn't find somewhere to pitch up.

As I was up early I did the Germanic thing and reserved our sunbeds for the day.

The pool had a quite unique marble type of tile which looked very different from normal pools.

And of course we found where the pool bar was!

The beach was literally right behind out hotel, out of the back gates down these steps and we had our own private bit of beach.

Breakfast time and smashing all the different types of eggs.

Again in the main buffet we never had to queue and could always find a table. As you can see it wasn't particularly busy.

The pool had loads of fountains and springs dotted around along with shallow ledges you could walk around up to mid shin in the water.
