Hobby Horse + Big Boys Bed

Well yesterday Joshua and Tina attended the second session of "Mini Mends" and Joshua got to try one of his Dad's favourites - blueberry's. Joshua got to wear his bright yellow "Mini Mends" t-shirt to his club for the first time as well.

But the breaking news for today is amazing................ Last night I took Joshua up to bed and went through the usual routine of change nappy, get pyjamas on, have a wash and teeth, then sit down for a couple of stories on his toy box whilst he drinks his milk before lifting him into his cot. Well last night we finished the story and to my surprise Joshua pointed towards his bed (not his cot) and said this one. I was a bit dubious but thought what have I got to lose. So I laid him on the bed and then he asked for the blanket. He snuggled up and went to sleep for the first time in his own bed - 7.30pm to around 6.00am without a peep from him. How good is that. I think it is amazing that he has voluntarily asked to sleep in his bed when he was good and ready. Of course I doubt he has yet realised that if he wakes during the night he has free roam of the penthouse suite and I am sure there are going to be nights in the future where we hear the pitter patter of little feet or the sirens on a toy fire engine at 2am!!!!

On the subject of sleeping Brandon has followed in his Brothers footsteps and can now often be found sleeping on his belly. Since he can easily now roll from front to back and back to front then this is no problem for him. And the breaking news for Brandon is that for the last 3 nights we have cut out his 11pm dream feed and the little guy is now going right through the night - pretty much 7pm to 6am - how cool is that. It makes such a difference to all be getting a good nights sleep.

As everyone knows Joshua has developed some keen interests in driving/cars, planes, nee nahs, Scooby doo and horses (so if anyone is stuck for ideas for his birthday then stick to one of those 5 and you won't go far wrong). Anyway to further enhance his horse riding skills he now has this hobby horse which he is learning to ride. If you press the ear lobes the horse makes a clip clop and neh sound as well. How cool.

As you can see from above I have been so engrossed on holiday blog updates that so much other stuff has been happening which I have not had time to write about. For example Joshua is now just over 2 weeks away from being 2 years old. That means that he is almost ready to move up a class at nursery. So the nursery have been giving him some 2-3 hour phase in sessions in his new class over the last week or so and touch wood all is well and he has taken to the new room and friends really well. So in with the big boys (and girls) soon.

Finally for today, Joshua got to experience Daddy's new car which we picked up on Monday. We treated ourselves (or should I say we treated the boys) to some built in rear seat DVD screens this time and Joshua recognised them straight away and started asking "telly on", "telly on". So we put the screens on (Disney Cars) and he was fascinated with the two screens in the back of the car. The screens come with wireless head phones and as you can see from the pictures below Joshua was a bit puzzled by the sound coming out of them. I am not sure if he made the connection between the sound coming out and the pictures on the screen. But surprisingly he did seem to keep the headphones on for sometime.
