1st School Uniform

With only about 4 weeks now until Joshua starts school we decided to get his new school uniform. As a parent this was a bit of an exciting occasion as it is the first time we have gone through this. The Abacus uniform is basically grey trousers with a yellow polo shirt and a purple sweater. However it doesn't stop there as you have to buy a weeks worth of clothes, plus the cap, the coat, the PE kit, the PE bag, the school bag, the new shoes, the socks and the list just goes on and on. Its frightening to see just how grown up Joshua looks all dressed up in his school uniform. It doesn't seem that long ago that we were bottle feeding and changing nappies on him. Now look at him. The even more frightening thing is that his is so big for his age that most of his uniform is for size 7 year olds (so it might fit Brandon as a hand me down in Brandon's year 2!!!!!).

All grown up and wearing his first school uniform

Size 12 shoes! Lets see if they really are scuff resistant!
Lets just hope Joshua doesn't grow too much over the next 4 weeks and out grow his uniform before he even starts school!

I am always on the look out for a bargain these days. and today we found a corker. Walking past the British Heart Foundation shop we saw this nice little Bob The Builder school desk and chair for a mere £20. Both boys already get homework and we thought that this would be absolutely perfect for them so sit down and concentrate on their work in a comfortable environment. There has been a few fights over who has the Bob chair so we are having to encourage them to take turns. So far it seems to have worked a treat though as both boys have just gone and sat up at the desk on a few occasions and pulled out some homework without any encouragement.
