Oh Christmas Tree

This weekend seems to have been all about Christmas Tree's. Not only have we had Brandon rehearsing his Christmas carols continuously, but we also went to a craft event over Wat Tyler park where the boys got to make these stunning little Xmas trees with Auntie Lisa. The Xmas trees now sit very proudly on their chest of drawers in their bedrooms.

Two happy boys with their hand made Xmas trees.
Then today we put up our Xmas decorations and for the first time ever we let the boys join in. Previously this has always been a job which has been done once the boys are in bed, but at some stage all parents have to make a decision as to when to take the plunge and involve the little ones (knowing full well it will take 3 times as long to do, make 3 times as much mess and look 3 times worse than when you do it without them). On the plus side you hopefully have much more fun and involve the kiddies in the Xmas spirit.

Brandon thoroughly enjoyed putting the decs on the tree, but he could only reach about half way up.

Brandon at full stretch just reaching the middle of the tree.
Joshua was very helpful in actually assembling the Xmas tree, then is was lightning quick at putting the decorations on it (so much so it was impossible to get a picture of him doing it).

Super Josh happy with his handy work on the tree.

Look how tall Joshua is, almost reaching to the very top of the tree.
The boys didn't do all the hard work on their own. They had a helping hand from their Nan who was keen to come over for the afternoon to give a helping hand and to watch the boys doing the decorations. It was a pleasure to have her over and I think she really enjoyed spending the time with the boys. Listening to Brandon singing "Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree......." as he puts the decorations on the tree is purely magical.

The boys Nanny and her Rudolph jumper helping decorate the tree.
