Chessington World Of Adventures 2017

It was 2014 since we last made a visit to Chessington World Of Adventures when Holly was just 7 months or so. Anyway this Monday the boys were off school with a teacher training day and we had some adults go free vouchers with every paying child. Not sure this is much of a saving given that tickets are circa £49 each now anyway!! Fortunately we didn’t have to pay for Holly as she is only 3, yet clearly she could go on a lot more rides this time around than back in 2014!

The park has changed a lot in the 3 years since we last went. Probably one of the biggest changes is that the infamous Bubble Works has been changed to a Gruffalo ride. The new Gruffalo ride has been done very well, however the good old Bubble Works was one of my Mum’s favourite rides so it is somewhat sad to see it now gone.

As with our previous visit back in 2014 we made use of the parent share to Fast Track the main rides which was great for the boys as it meant they got 2 goes on most of them. Despite arriving before the gates opened and not leaving until the last rides closed, there was so much of the park we missed. We did manage to get on the Zufari Ride this time, which was really good, and the kids loved it. But other than the animals we saw on the Zufari we didn’t have time to look around any of the zoo parts to Chessington.

Brandon got to go on Dragon Fury for the first time and I managed to talk Joshua in to going on Remises Revenge with me for the first time. As for Holly, surprisingly she could go on the Scorpion Coaster amongst lots of other rides.

We all had a great day out and had some very tired legs at the end of the day. Probably the only thing you can fault Chessington for is that the last rides close at 5pm, which in my opinion is just too early in the summer months, especially with the price of entry. The park wasn’t as quiet as we had hoped but most of the rides we got on with just a 10-20 min wait. The longest was the Cobra, which took us 35 minutes.

Tina and Brandon head off on Vampire.

Bubble Works has now been changed to the Gruffalo ride.

Here is the fox....

Holly with the owl behind her.

Ready for some snake ice-cream.

Holly wasn't too sure about the large Gruffalo.

Time for mouse dinner.

At least the Bubble Works water fountains have remained.

Mouse talking to the Gruffalo.

Holly and Tina on Sea Storm.

Holly and Joshua ready to ride the Scorpion.

Brandon and Tina in front of us.

I think Holly was enjoying the Scorpion.

Me and Joshua in prime centre spot on Remisis Revenge, we're going to get wet!

Water jets give me and Joshua a good soaking.

This is the truck they use for the Zufari animal tour ride.

Brandon getting pretty close to some giraffes.

Lots of deer's and gazelles in the safari.

The rhinos seemed scared of the lorry and backed away from it.

Plenty of animals to view on the Zufari.

Joshua really seems to like rhinos at the moment.

Our 3 kiddies enjoying themselves at Chessington.

The Buddha at Dragon Falls has been there ever since I was a kid. I am sure that somewhere there is a picture of me, Nicky, Lisa and Min by the Buddha.

Tina, Brandon and Joshua heading in to Dragon Falls.

Getting a good soaking on Dragon Falls.

My turn to ride with the boys whilst Tina waited with the sleeping Holly.

Me, Josh and B with our arms aloft ready for the splashdown.

Everyone loves a good log flume ride.

Brandon old enough to drive a bumper car for the first time and gunning for his dad.

Joshua trying hang man and only lasting about 5 seconds. You had to last 2 mins to win a prize.

I had a crack and used the Crossfit hook grip which failed me at about 1 min 20. Once of my thumbs started slipping at about 1.15 and as I tried to re-grip the bar rotated. Gutted.

Brandon was better than Josh lasting nearly 20 seconds.

Us 5 with the Gruffalo.
