Festival Aqua Park

Every summer holiday it has become a bit of a tradition to have a day out at the Festival Leisure Aquapark for some inflatable fun. With the scorching weather we had last week it was a bit of a no brainer to head over to the lake as a way of keeping cool. The major difference this year is that we took Holly on for the first time.

There is no height restriction but they do say the minimum age is 6. Well as Holly is only 3 months away from being 6 we decided it was worth taking the risk as long as I went in with her and stayed with her all the time (I was absolutely gutted that I had to go on the inflatables this year - NOT!). So we drilled it in to Holly that if anyone asks her age she was to say she was 6 years old and starting Year 2 this September. Luckily no one questioned Holly's age and she had an absolute blast on the inflatables.

After our hour was up we got an ice cream and just chilled on the small beach area by the side of the lake. The kids were making sand castles, sand angels and generally messing around in the water whilst watching the wake boarders. With something like 28 degree temperatures we could have been anywhere in the world, you wouldn't have believed it was merely over Bas Vegas.

We abandoned the wet suits as it was so hot, but you still have to wear life jackets to go on the inflatables.

Holly's first every play on the Aqua Park inflatables.

Ready to slide down in to the cool waters below.

No fear, she is off.

Good balance to make it across this bridge.

Or cheat and go across on your knees.

Holly had an absolute blast and wore me out chasing around after her.

This was the largest slide on the inflatables.

Traversing one of the bridges.

Brandon leaping from an inflatable pyramid.

Apparently this is a forward flip according to Josh!!!!

The next attempt wasn't much better.

Brandon at least got some rotation and nearly made a complete 360.

Josh, Brandon and Holly in a giant inflatable hamster wheel.

Holly back on the small slide.

Teaching Holly how to jump off of the pyramids.

Messing around with Holly on the trampoline.

That woman doesn't look impressed at me practicing head stands on the trampoline.

Josh and Brandon play last man standing on the bridge.

Me and Josh trying to do a synchronised dive in to the water - epic fail.

More slide action for Holly.

Brandon making sand angels and getting covered in sand.

Setting a good example for Holly who followed suit.

Oh dear, they are not getting in my car looking like that.

Playing on the small beach area as wake boarding go around in the background.

On a hot day you just wouldn't think this is Bas Vegas.

The kids keeping cool in the water on a very hot summer day.

Basildon or the Mediterranean??????
