Day 1 Wales Park Dean Ty Mawr

A little ate with this blog as I have been so busy lately. But a week ago we went away to North West Wales for 5 days staying in the Park Dean resort in Ty Mawr. We deliberately picked this location as it was relatively close to the 3 Zip World centers in North West Wales and thus I had pre-booked loads of activities including swings, coasters, zip lines and cave trampolines (more to come on those on Day 2 and 4).

We left on Monday morning of the Jubilee bank holiday week and the journey was actually pretty free flowing all the way. Some 260+ miles covered in around 6 hours which included one decent stop to get something to eat and drink. Really the only traffic we encountered was on the M6 around Birmingham which left me wishing we had paid the £7.20 and taken the toll road.

Once we arrived we immediately got to check in to our caravan although for the first time ever I think I forgot to take any pictures of it. It was a big 8 birth caravan which looked very new. Me and Tina had a double room with our own ensuite. Joshua and Holly had their own rooms which had 2 single beds in. Then Brandon opted to sleep in the lounge area (I think because it was the only room with a TV in it!).

After the long journey we stretched our legs in the evening with a nice walk along the beach. Not far from our resort we stumbled across a fairground so the kids all had a few rides in there. All 3 of them ended up a bit green and soon declined any further rides. After the funfair we walked back and enjoyed a nice dinner in the restaurant onsite before the kids dragged me in to the thing I hate the most on holiday - the arcades!!!!

Evening stroll along the coast at Ty Mawr.

Very pebbly beach which Holly loved as she hunts for stones that look like gems.

Tina was having kittens as Brandon found it fun to ignore the sea wall and walk along the large rocks.

Not the greatest weather, but it could be worse for North West Wales.

Trying to look cool balancing on wobbly boulders.

Joshua soon joined Brandon, not wise wearing sliders. At least Brandon had grippy trainers on!

Holly was a bit smarter and stuck to the sea wall.

At the fun fair Holly was old enough and big enough to drive the bumper cars on her own.

Brandon, Josh and Holly eyeing each other up.

Brandon lining up for a ram on his brother and sister.

Carnage as the 3 of them duke it out.

Joshua trying to spin Brandon out.

Well that's not nice, the two boys ganging up on H.

Brandon starting to look bored as the bumper cars don't offer enough speed.

Joshua about to broadside Holly.

All three of them enjoying the Waltzer.

Nice to see the Queens Jubilee flag flying high with the Welsh Dragon.

Josh was done first, so only Brandon and Holly went on the Twister.

Then Brandon was done for, leaving Holly alone on this beast.

It all started good, but perhaps she should have watched what the ride done before nagging to go on it.

Soon she was being spun around, upside down, backwards and came off not a happy bunny.

What a donut!

Brandon on the driving simulator in the arcades.

Back at base and Holly got to meet one of the StarLight characters from Park Dean.
