Day 2 Wales Ty Mawr - Fforest Zip World

Day 2 of our little holiday in Wales and it was the first of two trips to one of the Zip Worlds in North West Wales - Fforest Zip World. For this activity Center I had booked all five of us on one of those giant swings off of the edge of a cliff and then the really cool 710m long coaster which hots speeds of 25mph.

In between the events I had allowed quite a bit of free time so we went on some little adventures to visit the Waterloo Bridge, Betws-y-coed, Pont-y-pair bridge And Fairy Glen Gorge. For most of the day the weather was tipping it down with rain but oddly enough it wasn't cold and didn't really stop us from doing anything and from getting about. Probably the worst was a down poor we got caught in rushing back t our car from Pont-y-pair bridge to get back to Zip World for our coaster ride.

The giant swing at Zip World didn't look that high until all 5 of us got on it and were hoisted up in to the air!!! We all had face cams on us and the videos are pretty funny to see the different reactions. The first swing was amazing but then the 30 odd swings after that whilst it comes to a stop are pretty grim and not good for your stomach (unless you are Holly and immediately want to go again).

The coaster ride was amazing and we all had 3 turns each on the track. Holly was too young to drive on her own so she went with Tina on one occasion and me on two others. When Holly was with me, we went full send and didn't touch the brakes once despite warning signs at various parts of the track. She absolutely loved it though. The boys both bigged it up saying that they also went full send, but the video says otherwise as every now and then you see them pull up on the brakes.

After Zip World we took another adventure to the beautiful Fairy Glen gorge which was a bit dangerous to hike in the wet conditions. The conditions soon started to show as Holly lost her balance whilst holding my hand and pulled me in to the stream resulting in wet feet! Then worse than that, a little later she was being support by Tina who then slipped over and cracked her skull on a big boulder. Had it not been for a Zip World bandana Holly and Tina had brought earlier this could have been much more serious.

Beautiful scenery at Fforest.

When we arrived at Fforest Zip World we found this little bird which needed rescuing.

Our first day of adventures at Zip World Fforest.

Testing out the coaster seat size for later in the day.

Holly and Tina with their new Zip World hair bandanas (I can highly recommend them if you want to smash your head in to a boulder!).

The lovely woodland at Fforest.

The 5 seater giant swing which for some reason doesn't look as high as it is.

View upstream at the Waterloo Bridge.

Just look at that water.

Me, Tina and Holly at the Waterloo Bridge.

In the other direction on the bridge.

Then we walked up to the stunning Pont-y-pair bridge which was really good fun to explore.

Bewts-y-coed doesn't disappoint.

The boys chilling and taking it all in.

Holly at Pont-y-pair bridge.

Tina wasn't happy about the risks the boys were taking.

Some white water breaking over the boulders.

Me and my little H.

Just loads of beautiful scenery pics.

Josh and B exploring underneath the bridge.

Pont-y-pair bridge.

Brandon looking cool and chilled.

Joshua clambering back up the rocks.

We 5 Kings at Pont-y-pair.

And more of us.

Brandon trying to get an extreme selfie for the gram!

"Doh I am a little wet!", at least he didn't drop his phone.

Big Josh exploring.

Joshua giving Holly a helping hand.

Brandon with another picture for the gram.

Always happy to pose for the camera.

Back at Zip World and time to ride these babies.

Joshua all set for his first ride on the coaster.

Brandon all set for the off.

The track just keeps going up, and up and up.....

Holly rode with me first and was pretty excited.

And still going up.....

On the way up you get to see some of the track bringing you back down.

Nearly at the top.

Finally we are off.

Still smiling as we go full send. No brakes.

Joshua meandering through the trees on the way down hitting speeds of 25mph.

But he did touch the brakes every now and then.

Starting our descent down to Fairy Glen gorge.

The gorge was just stunning.

It was a little slippery and dangerous down there.

But that didn't deter the boys.

Look at those colours.

Brandon at the gorge.

Me and B at Fairy Glen gorge.

Another view of the gorge showing the light shining through.

The water had an odd brown tinge to it.

Looking up stream.

Which eventually flows in to this fishing lake.

Finally the rain stops and we get some sunshine today.

Selfie with Holly and Tina.

Me and H exploring.

Lovely pic of Holly and Josh.

Me and my kiddies, I love giving them experiences and memories like this.

The bump on Tina's head after falling at Fairy Glen.
