First School Play / Show

One thing you can guarantee with children is that the rest of your life will always be filled with new “firsts”. Its been a while since I wrote about “The first time that something happened……”, but there have been numerous events this week. For example:

  • The first time Joshua tried Christmas pudding.
  • The first time Brandon did a poo on his potty.
  • The first time Joshua wrote his name with no template or help.
  • The first time Brandon wore pants for a whole day and remained dry.
  • Etc.etc.
However this afternoon was one of those really significant “firsts” which I will never ever forget. It was the first Christmas school play / show which was held at the boys nursery. And to make the event that bit more special, both Joshua and Brandon featured in the performance. Basically the children dressed up with their hand made Xmas star hats and performed the four Christmas songs which they have been learning. At the end of the performance they all got up and took a bow to the proud Mum’s and Dad’s watching. T Unfortunately Tina couldn’t get time off of work – so this is one of those memories that is all mine to treasure for eternity. Its hard to describe the feeling you get watching your children perform in front of your very own eyes and realising just how quickly they are growing up and how much they have learnt.

Joshua is one of the taller boys in his class and so he was in the back row (red t-shirt).

Unfortunately both boys were performing at the same time - but in different rooms! So I had a very difficult task of switching between each room frequently to trying and catch as much as possible and without disturbing all the kids and getting in the way of the other parents (not easy).

This was the best picture I managed to get of Brandon (grey shirt with orange star hat next to the teacher). But I did get a video of one of his classes songs.
