Floatie

On our most recent travels to Disneyland Paris Brandon got to try out a float belt instead of conventional arm bands whilst swimming. He seemed to thoroughly enjoy the float belt and had much more confidence in deeper water. Also having the floats around his waist instead of his arms seemed to give him much more freedom to swim with his arms than when wearing arm bands.

Anyway it has taken me over a month but I finally managed to get the little guy his own float belt which he tried for the first time today. The results were just as good, if not better than on holiday. Brandon was full of confidence and stayed in the big pool much longer than he usually does. He was floating on his back, spinning around in circles and was also getting his arms going whilst swimming. In fact he probably used more arms than Joshua does. Although Joshua is a better swimmer he does tend to use predominantly legs and not too much arm work. Brandon looks like the other way around.

There are five floats on the belt and so the plan is to take one float off every 2-3 weeks and see how he gets on. Hopefully we will soon having him swimming without armbands the same as Josh.

Joshua is getting pretty good at diving now and can easily dive down and swim between your legs and pop up the other side without any assistance . To make more of a game out of his diving we bought him some of those Zoggs sinking seals today. We haven't tried them out yet but given how much he loves diving, I am sure they will be a winner.
