Thetford Forest Day 4 - Hunstanton Beach

Day 4 saw us change our plans a little in order to meet up with the family at Hunstanton Beach and give Joshua and Brandon more time to play with their cousin Leyla. The day did not start great as the trusty old Sat Nav took us down the narrowest and windy country lanes which results in Joshua throwing up all over his lap and the car! After a quick clean up and a change of clothes we finally arrived in Hunstanton after about an hour and a quarter. Despite the numerous times we must have been here as kids there was very little, if anything, that I recognised about this beach resort.

Joshua's posh clothes and his Andy Cap hat prior to being sick all over himself.

Cheeky Brandon with a matching Andy Cap hat.

No this is not scene from the recent London riots. It is Joshua and Brandon throwing stones and trying to skim shells into the sea water.
After a little plan on the beach Auntie Chris treated the 3 kiddies to a donkey ride up and down the beach. All 3 kids thoroughly enjoyed their little ride despite the cold and windy weather.

Brandon ready to ride with matching yellow boots and hoodie.

And he is off.......

Joshua's donkey was a slightly bigger one called "Sammy".

Ride em cowboy.

Brandon is a natural on the horses/donkeys.

After the donkey ride I bought all the kids a new spade so that they could have a dig on the beach and make some sand castles. Leyla didn't last too long as she got cold quickly, but I pretty much had to drag the boys from the beach. Come rain or shine they would happily play on the beach all day long.

To warm up a bit we decided to head into the arcades where the boys were happy to gamble away on the 2p machines. Brandon took a real liking to the horse racing game and won a race on his very first go (and yes he did bet on the yellow horse!).

"Come on yellow"

The biker gangs were out in force.
Overall the day could have been better but we managed to make the most of it. Such a shame about the weather really. The boys were still very tired and had a good sleep on the way back. Shame really as they missed us driving down "Brandon Road". So in a highly dangerous manor I took a photo of the Sat Nav whilst driving along and half mounting the curb to prove that he has a road named after him.

Brandon Rd - and yes I am breaking the speed limit by 3 miles an hour whilst taking a photo.
Sods law the weather decides to brighten up as we get back to the camp site. So after dinner its time for a chill out with the family. The boys and Amy were off playing football as usual.

Chill time...........
Yet another long day and another late night for the boys. Absolutely no trouble getting them both to sleep again tonight.

Out for the count, the last night of our little camping expedition.
The final day sees an early start as we pack up the tent and then it was off to Banham Zoo to make the very most of our vacation time.
