Southend Vs Hartlepool United

Yesterday was yet another full on football day for me and the boys. Our day started with the normal 2-3 hours over Forest Glade for football training whilst Auntie Nicky kindly looked after Holly for us. After a quick shower and a spot of lunch it was over to Roots Hall thanks to Uncle Michael getting us tickets for the Hartlepool game. Given that Hartlepool are bottom of the division and Southend are sitting in 7th place we were expecting a bit of a one sided story. But the ref had other ideas and clearly wasn't a big Southend fan. Anyway the end result was 1-0 Southend but to be honest Southend should have had a few more goals and a penalty in the second half. Then to end our football day it was a quick dash back home to catch the 2nd half of England vs Slovenia which ended in 3-1 win and Wayne Rooney scoring a goal on his 100th cap for England.

Both boys were very intrigued by the Bluebell cheer leading girls at the half time show!!!! It's a good job their Mum wasn't with us because I think they were both concentrating much harder on the girls dancing than they were the football. They kept asking why there was naked girls on the bitch, or why they were dancing in just their nickers and bra's.

Joshua and Brandon at Roots Hall. Brandon looking grumpy because I wouldn't buy him a burger.
Me and my football mad boys enjoying a game at Southend.
After the match we popped into the Southend shop where Joshua bought a lovely Southend hooded fleece top for £15 and Brandon bought a coffee cup and a Southend teddy (which he has named Southend!). So as not to leave Holly out we saw a really nice Southend United pink dress which we bought for her as a Birthday present.

Holly's new Southend United outfit. Another Shrimper in the making.

The only damper (pardon the pun) on our football weekend was the rain which water logged all the local football pitches meaning that Joshua's 5th league match was abandoned today. Such a shame as all the boys were really looking forward to playing the Berry Boys in our first away game of the season.
