Minion Art at the Laboratory and Ashes Cricket

Another Friday in the school summer holidays and another day off work for me to spend with the family. In the morning we just pottered around the house and got a few jobs done like the hoovering and gardens. Then lunch time we headed over to the Laboratory for the Minion Arts session and also took the time to play some cricket and for Brandon to use his radio controlled boat in the model boat lake.

Both boys seem to have really taken to cricket which is quite odd really considering I can't stand it (but then I guess the same can be said about fishing). Joshua seems a dab hand with the bat whilst Brandon is more of a bowler. The boys enthusiasm and motivation to play cricket is further being fuelled by the fact that England are on the verge of a historic Ashes win potentially having the series all wrapped up by Day 3 of the 4th test.
Joshua taking to the wicket as Brandon readies for a bowl.
Joshua hits the ball well and starts to tally up some runs.
Fast bowler Brandon about to launch another ball. He always did have a good throwing arm on him.
Not quite a traditional cricket stance, but it seems to work well for Joshua.

After the cricket Brandon had a rare play with his radio controlled boat that Auntie Nicky bought him last year. He absolutely loved playing with it today and probably spent a good 45-60 mins on the lake which is the longest he has ever used it. Now Joshua wants one of these for his birthday as Brandon wouldn't share and his large tug boat one has a tendency to tip over and sink!!!

Brandon launching his Wave Blaster.
And off it goes across the model boating lake.
Little B had really good control of the boat today and was avoiding the reeds really well.
Joshua, Brandon, Holly and Tina down in the dug out watching the boat.
Holly looking for the fishies in the water.
Then she spots the miniature railway train and waves to all the passengers.
Joshua at the Laboratory working on his purple minion hama bead art.
Brandon didn't want to make a minion and instead did a very nice horse made of hama beads.
Both boys enjoying their time at their Aunties art studio.
Holly hard at work doing her Minion drawing.
What beautiful colours. Surprisingly using her right hand given that she appears to be a lefty for most activities.
