Disney Frozen on Ice

As Holly didn't have a Birthday party this year we got her tickets to go and watch the Disney Frozen on Ice show at the O2 arena. She was supposed to be going with a group including three of her friends. However somehow the organiser booked the tickets for the 27th instead of the 29th and 2 of them ended up dropping out. So it turned out to be Princess Holly and Princess Jessica going to the show.

Holly looked stunning in her Princess dress that she bought with her birthday money. As cute as she looked I absolutely hate this dress as it is covered in glitter and whenever she wears it the whole house just gets smothered in glitter. Its in the carpets, on her bed, in the kitchen and everywhere.

Anyway Holly seemed to thoroughly enjoy the show from what Tina reported back and was glued to the performances. She got herself a slushy in a special Princess cup to keep her refreshed during the show.

Holly and her friend Jessica all dressed up and ready for the show at the O2.

Wickmas 2016

With Christmas day over with our preparations and focus immediately change to the Boxing Day Wickmas which we still keep going in memory of my Mum who absolutely lived for this day. The day started as usual with presents in the living . Holly was so well behaved as she sat in her little Frozen chair patiently holding her next present and waiting until it was her turn to open it. I can't imagine there are many 3 year olds that would do that.

After presents it was time for some food and drink and then the rest of the day was filled with all the usual activities including pie face showdown, the giant secret Santa cracker pull, duck shoot, yule log competition,Xmas quiz, naff naff competition and much much more. For once no one got really drunk this year which was probably due to the fact that most people were doped up on some kind of flu/cold medicines!

As with Xmas day the two boys stayed up really late and thoroughly enjoyed the day with the family, playing the games and generally partying. Boxing day is becoming just as much a Christmas day for them as Christmas day itself. All 3 kiddies also got a little tree present from Santa which they opened on boxing day. Joshua got another boat for his track, Brandon got a set of cars for his hot wheels track and Holly got a Sofia doll to go with her new castle toy.

Every settles in to their spot as we start the present opening on Boxing Day.

The living room is just about big enough for the whole family.

Holly very patiently waiting in her chair to open her next present.

Holding the present and ready to go when it is her turn.

And she is off, ripping in to the wrapping paper.

Another teddy for Holly's ever growing collection.

I think Joshua is about to open a friend for his Pikachu build-a-bear.

Well they do say kids prefer boxes to the presents.

Brandon loved his marble present from Auntie Nicky and Uncle Paul. Come to think of it, Holly also really enjoyed playing with this.

Its nice to see all three of them playing nicely together and sharing.

Brandon in the conservatory for the naff naff competition. How the hell our reindeer head didn't win is still beyond me.

Me playing "Say it don't spray it". Although this was the tame version. The more fun version that me, David and Michael played was the eating and drinking competition whilst wearing the mouth guards.

Joshua going head-to-head with Amy at Pie Face Showdown.

Looks like Amy wins and Joshua is about to get a face full of cream.
I proved to be no better at this game as David beat me with his left hand.
Tina playing the card face game and trying to figure out that she is a 70's disco dancer.

Brandon as a Tiger, rather apt given he plays for the Tigers football team.

Our Xmas photo booth frame was a bit of a flop, but Joshua and Tina did take at least one picture with it.

I meant to decorate the frame with festive lights and a "Merry Xmas" sign but just didn't have time.

Our old duck shoot game is still going strong (just about) and even Holly has been enjoying playing it this year. I think Lisa won on the day with a top score of 320.

Settling down for the quietest part of the day as we team up to do Auntie Lisa's Xmas Quiz.

Holly ticking in to a rather larger Santa chocolate.

Auntie Nicky and Brandon playing the Xmas face game.

Chaos about to erupt as a days hard work preparing our giant Xmas cracker is about to get destroyed in a matter of seconds.

Christmas Day 2016

Despite all of us recovering from sickness over the Christmas period we managed to make the most of our Xmas day and had a really good day at home with the kids and all their presents. Surprisingly they did not wake until nearly 8 o'clock so we had a good sleep. Once they were all up and dressed we decided for the first time ever to let them tuck in to their presents before having breakfast (I am not sure we will do this again as none of them were too interested in eating once they had loads of new toys to play with!).

My nemesis this year was definitely kids toys packaging. My god some of the packaging is so extreme that I think it would survive being dropped from 30,000ft from a Boeing into a head of stampeding elephants and still remain unbroken. For the kids main presents this year Joshua got a BMX bike (which he was limited in use at the moment because of his knee), Brandon got a laptop and Holly got a Karaoke machine. All 3 of them did very well and got some lovely presents as you can see from the pictures. Santa also left us a really nice family present this year - a PlayStation 4!

Christmas dinner was lovely and we all ate as much as we could despite not having much of an appetite with the illness. Holly got tired around 7pm as she hadn't had a daytime nap so she went to bed quite early. But the two boys stayed up until we went to bed at about 10 to midnight in the end. It was really nice to enjoy more of Xmas day with them and there just seemed no need to send them to bed as they were not tired and didn't have to get up for anything the next day. So we played games, watched some movies and played on the new PS4.

With the Elf gone his last good deed before leaving was to lay the dinner table all read for Xmas day.
Caught a sneaky photo of Santa as he did the drop off at Midnight on Xmas Eve.

Santa made his visit on Xmas Eve and the presents around the tree looked very impressive.

Holly wastes no time at all and is first to tuck in to a present.

A very happy Joshua with his Pikachu teddy from Build-A-Bear.

Joshua with he new West Ham Onesie (size 12-13!!!!!).

Brandon also got a West Ham onesie.

Brandon with a Hot Wheels builder kit.

Joshua got this really cool boat racing track with miniature motorised boats.

Holly with her battery powered pattern drawing turtle.

Brandon loved his new laptop with a muscle car skin.

Holly's presents had a common theme of Sofia The First this year. This was her singing Sofia doll.

Oh no, not more Play-doh for Holly.

Holly loves painting so Santa brought her a Princess to paint.

Joshua's new BMX bike.

Holly really enjoyed playing with Brandon with his new Hot Wheels builder set.

Joshua's boat racing track with motorised boat and shark attack.

A Very happy little Holly watching her turtle make some art designs all over the kitchen floor (literally at times!).

Despite an injured knee Joshua managed to test out his BMX (whilst wearing his West Ham onesie!). To be honest I was excited to have a go on it as well and see if I could still pull off an endover, wheelie and bunny hop.

Xmas dinner is served at Wick Palace and the 5 Kings settle down to our festive feast.

Some after dinner antics with the "Say it don't spray it game".

Joshua trying to eat a brussel sprout with the mouth guard in place. Not a pleasant sight.
