Winter Wonderland 2016

Last night Candy Cane had wrapped himself up in some spare fairy lights and in his hand was a curious letter with a bow around it. When the kids unwrapped the letter they found a message from Santa himself asking them to get their parents to drive them to Santa's Grotto in Lakeside to meet the big man himself at 3:30pm today.

Candy Cane tangled up in some fairy lights with a message for the kids.

The message from Santa telling them to be at Lakeside for 3:30pm today.

Inside Lakeside the Winter Wonderland is sponsored by Playmobile this year (hence the large Playmobile characters in front to of the Xmas tree).

Whilst waiting for Santa we did some fishing for ducks to win some prizes. Brandon first hooking himself an Father Xmas duck.

Then Joshua lands himself and Elf duck.

And finally with a bit of help from me, Holly also gets an Elf duck.

As their prizes Joshua chose an EMOJI thing, Holly got a Santa teddy and Brandon got himself a penguin teddy.

After that we decided to go in the giant Disney Frozen snow globe for a family picture.

Holly looking very festive with Princess Anna.

Family picture inside the snow globe and Holly has a handful of snow ready to throw.

Snow is falling, though Josh and Tina didn't want anything to do with the pretend snow.

Finally 3:30 arrives and it is time for us to enter the Santa's Grotto.

Now that's what I call a giant ginger bread man.

Brandon sending Santa a message down the gramophone.

Joshua and one of the Elves using the naughty / nice machine, fortunately Joshua was on the nice list.

Brandon also made it on to the machines nice list.

Amazingly even Holly was on the nice list, although she wanted to push the red button more than the green one.

King family picture for 2016 with Father Christmas at the Lakeside Winter Wonderland Santa's Grotto. Poor old Joshua still on his crutches. This year Joshua asked for a BMX bike, Brandon asked for a PS4 and Holly asked for a Sophia the First.

Another Santa visit over.....

That's got to be one of the largest Christmas trees ever and look stunning lit up of a night time.
