Party Season & Swimming Gold

December has just been a blur and gone so quickly. I have been accumulating loads of little pictures and bits of news to but on the blog but just not had time to do it. So today's blog is a catch up to get everything on the blog before Xmas Day tomorrow when I am sure I will have a load more news and pictures to add.

To start with we have shut up for football for 2 weeks over Xmas which is a welcome break. Our final session of the year was a really fun games day and the kids all made a great effort with Xmas hats and jumpers. We got all the kiddies a little selection box each for Xmas and was quite overwhelmed with my present from the kids which was a load of Guinness and a new Forest Glade Tracksuit.

End of our Xmas 2016 training session with the Forest Glade Under 8 Tigers and Pumas.

A bit of a silly pose by all the kids.

Beavers and Cubs have also both now shutdown so I also have a couple of Tuesday evenings free over Xmas. On our last night at Beavers we again had a big Xmas Party games night with the kids followed by loads of party food. Even more presents for me from the kiddies with some chocolates and beers.

Xmas party time with the Beavers. Joshua was allowed to join in as the Cubs finished a week earlier.

The boys sporting achievements have still been going strong as 2017 draws to an end. They both took part in a recent Race for Life run at school. Joshua was pretty limited with what he could do as he is on crutches. Brandon did very well and was the first Year 3 kid across the finish line. Both of them received a medal which was nice.

Brandon also attended the Basildon and Phoenix Swimming Club Xmas Gala last night. He was a little unsure about whether or not to go but he was so pleased we talked him in to it. The kids had an absolute whale of a time and Brandon was awesome in his races. He came 2nd in the 25m freestyle, 2nd in the 50m freestyle, then his blue team came second in the relay race at the end. Overall the blue team scored more points on the night and won the gold medal, so another swimming medal for B. To celebrate the win all the blue team jumped in the pool wearing their medals, it was absolute carnage!

School race for Life. Joshua still on crutches but still receiving a medal.

Finally for today one last update from Candy Cane. The boys found out that he had left them one more gift this year. It was a personalised jar of chocolate spread / nutella stuff hidden away in the kitchen cupboard with their names across the front. Cool.

Anyone for some Joshua chocolate spread?

Or maybe some Brandon chocolate spread?
