Happy Halloween 2016

I absolutely love Halloween time of the year and this year has not disappointed so far. All 3 kids have really got in to the pumpkin carving and have enjoyed making their own creations. Brandon set the bat a bit high on his design and wanted a Ghostbuster design and subsequently I ended up helping him. Joshua tried writing Grand Theft Auto in his one and then when that went wrong he went for a straight forward face. Holly got to use by whitey/green pumpkin which was just too damned hard to carve. So she decorated hers with the plastic face parts.

Brandon hard at work bending my big spoons carving his pumpkin.

Joshua couldn't wait to attack his with the carving knives but made a few mistakes. At least he tried on his own though,

And Holly got the bomb proof pumpkin which is too damned hard to carve.

Doesn't look too bad when lit up.

Proud Holly with her very colourful pumpkin.

At the weekend we found these rather cool LED light up bat glasses for Halloween dress ups!

On Saturday night we was invited to a friends Halloween Party and we all dressed up as Team Zombie American football players with Tina and Holly being our cheer leaders. Some dodgy make-up done by yours truly and we looked a right monstrous brood. The party was really good fun and the hosts had really gone to town. There was even a separate (more scary) entrance for adults as opposed to where the kids entered. The Fotabooth idea was great and then there was lots of kiddies games like tissue paper mummies etc. A really good night to remember and but my Bonoween preps to shame.

Tina drinking some rather dodgy liquid from a syringe, served from a zombie nurse!

Holly and Darcy playing a newspaper standing game which was a take on musical chairs but with the paper getting smaller and smaller.

Team Joshua about to get mummified by toilet roll.

Starting at the head the kids worked downwards to cover him from head to toe using 3 toilet rolls.

God I hope he can breath under there. Poor Josh.

The kids had a teacher training day today so to finish the half term and have some more Freaky Halloween fun, Tina and a few of her school friends all met u and took the little ones to Marsh Farm for the day. Looks like they had a great day and the came home loaded with yet more pumpkins to be carved for Bonoween next weekend. If nothing else we have plenty for pumpkin bowling and pumpkin throwing.

Holly really is too cute to pull off a scare at Halloween.

Love this picture of the little ones.

Half Term in Norfolk - Church Farm

For October half term we paid an overnight visit to Auntie Chris and Uncle Steve in Norfolk so that the kiddies could spend some time with Layla. The journey there was really simple for once, no sickness, no traffic, nice smooth ride - just perfect. We stopped twice on the way. Once because we drove past Ely Cathedral and Joshua thought it looked like Hogwarts Castle and wanted a picture for Amy, then second as we crossed over Brandon Creek, Brandon decided he wanted a picture in front of the Brandon Creek sign.

In Norfolk we all stayed at Chris's over night with Joshua and Brandon staying in Leyla's room and Holly in the spare room with me and Tina. I swear that Leyla, Joshua and Brandon couldn't have slept more than about 3 hours all night and was pretty much keeping the whole house awake. It was only a one off and the kids were having fun, but I think they will all be very, very tired on the next day.

On our second day in Norfolk we decided to take the kiddies to Church Farm where they had a Harry Potter Wizards and Witches themed week going on. They had a giant haystack Hogwarts Train, Quidditch on the football pitch and loads of other Potter related activities. The kids all had fun interacting with the farm animals and even more fun in the sand pit, the hay barn and the indoor play area. The kids were all so active in the farm and having had little sleep the night before they are sure to be knackered this evening. Surprisingly I thought they would all be asleep in the car on the way home but only Holly did.

In Church Farm and Leyla, Josh, Brandon and Holly petting some goats.

All aboard the Hogwarts Express.

Surprisingly during this visit to Norfolk, Leyla seemed closer to Brandon and played more with him than with Joshua. Leyla also loved having a little girl to play with and did lots of girlie things with Holly.

Playing in the carriages of the Hogwart Express.

Brandon stroking a rather large rabbit.

Holly being very brave and stroking a very large sheep.

4 cheeky monkeys.

Brandon and Leyla burying Joshua in the sand pit. That's going to make a nice mess in the car!

Joshua and Holly making sand castles.

Holly chuckling away as she bounces up and down on the trampoline.

Over she goes.....

Butter wouldn't melt in their mouths.....

Lunchtime picnic out in the barn.

Yeh, Holly learns to make Hoola Hoop finger rings for the first time. Her fingers are so small she can get two crisps per finger.

Holly's arts and crafts with her glitter wizard hat that she made.

Holly driving a tractor through a large tire.

I think Joshua is getting a tad on the large side to be riding pedal tractors.

Even Brandon looks big on these now.

Brandon was getting most upset at the other kids not driving on the correct side of the road.

After two very busy and active days it is taking its toll on the little ones and Joshua starts to wind down and have some chill time on a hay stack before the journey home.
