Happy 9th Birthday Josh

9 years ago today a big boy was born and what a fine young boy he is growing up to be. It seems hard to believe that last year he spent his birthday in hospital and than next year he will be in double digits! I managed to go in to work late today so I could see him before school and he could open his presents.

This year he got a laptop as his main present as he does a lot of computer work at school and gets frequent homework which is done on the computer. He also got a little Go-Pro type digital camera kit, some in line skates, a Harry Potter book, West Hams new home kit, lots of clothes, some new football thermals, some Nike Huarache shoes, Pokemon cards, Game of Life Junior, giant Jenga, Crocodile dentist and and skating hat (I've probably missed a few things off the list). He also has £50 birthday money which he has plans to buy a Syrian hamster with!!!

Holly has been really funny today as she has been singing happy birthday Joshua all day. Should be really interesting on her 3rd birthday next month as she definitely understands the concept of birthdays being someones special day and getting presents.

Joshua is not having a birthday party this year as he wanted a zoo keeper for the day experience instead. So he has that booked up for later in November at Colchester Zoo. With Pokemon becoming quite a big thing again in 2016, Tina managed to get him a Pokemon ball birthday cake made up with his name and age on it.

To celebrate his birthday we had dinner out at the Quays where we also met up with Nicky, Nick, Zoe, Amy, Michael and Lea which was a really pleasant evening.

The night before and all Joshua's presents are wrapped, cards written and balloons inflated.

Holly passed Joshua his presents whilst he lounged on the sofa opening them. This is his new West Ham home kit shirt.

Joshua tucking in to another of his presents, giant Jenga from Auntie Chris.

Joshua playing with his main present, a new laptop which we bought a really cool GTA skin for in order to personalise it for him.

Joshua and Brandon sitting down watching GTA videos on Youtube using his new laptop.

Not a bad haul of presents and this doesn't include his money and all the presents he got from the family later in the day.

Joshua's 9 year old Pokemon birthday cake.

Sitting in the Quays for a nice dinner out with some of the family.

Josh is growing up too quickly. He didn't want to be embarrassed with the family singing happy birthday to him and in the end we could barely get him to blow out a candle. Of course eating the cake was not an issue for him!
