Pumpkin Patch

After football today we headed over to the Pumpkin Patch at Barleylands and had a really fun time walking around and picking our own pumpkins plus a couple of sweetcorn pods as well. Unfortunately Holly had fallen asleep in the car so it was just me and the boys.

It was free to get in to the Pumpkin Patch but once in there you had to pay for your crops that you picked and it wasn't particularly cheap. The extra large pumpkins were £5 and then they went down in price in £1 increments to the tiny ones at £1 each. Then the sweet corn was 50p each. What was quite unusual was these light grey coloured pumpkins which I hadn't seen before. So we ended up spending more than I had hoped, but we do now have all our pumpkins ready to carve for Halloween.

Joshua and Brandon at the Pumpkin Patch in Barleylands.

Spoilt for choice as the boys size up their pumpkins.
Joshua nabs himself a bit of a whopper.
A good selection of very fresh pumpkins.
I've never seen these albino pumpkins before. Very unusual.
The pumpkin pile-up, how tall do you measure up against the stack?
The pumpkin pull a face.
Brandon finally picks his pumpkin.
Walking through the pumpkin maze which goes through the corn fields.
The boys playing on a giant haystack.
Not sure they intended for kids to climb in to the pumpkin containers!!!
How about this for something different. Pumpkin bowling. I might have to incorporate this for Bonoween '16.
Brandon using one of the albino pumpkins for his bowling.
STRIKE.........
Using a wheel barrow to take our haul back to the car. Tina was a bit shocked to see us use a wheel barrow to carry our pumpkins back.
