Central Park Skate park

Yesterday we had a late kick-off for Brandon's U8's team as they had their very first 7v7 friendly to start preparing for next season. So in the morning we headed over to Central Park for the kids to do the park run. For Joshua this was his 21st park run which means next week he will receive his marathon wrist band. For Brandon it was his 24th run but he only picked up his marathon award this week. As for little Holly, she ran along with me and did her longest run in preparation for when she turns 4. I would guess that she did maybe 500m of the 2k course which is a long way for her little legs, but credit to her as she did not stop all the way.

The kids all decided to take their scooters over to Central Park as it was such a nice day and therefore after the park run we let them have a 10-15 minute play on the all new skate park which they have built over there. Joshua and Brandon were whizzing around and slowly getting braver. Holly wanted to go on there as well so I led her around on her little 3-wheeler scooter trying to dodge all the other kids that were whizzing and jumping around. Talk about eyes in the back of your head!!!

Joshua hitting some ramps on his stunt scooter.
I don't know much about skate parks but this looks like quite a good facility for the kids to accommodate all skill levels.
Brandon on one of the bigger hills.
Not quite the right idea Joshua, you are supposed to scoot not run up the hills.
Holly was fearless and wore me out as I took her up and down the ramps and hills.
All three kiddies having fun in the skate park. Shame Holly wasn't looking at the camera!
Holly and Brandon having some scooter fun. Uncle Matt will be cringing at them using scooters and not inline skates.
