Weekend with the Carrot Crunchers

This weekend we had a very impromptu but pleasant visit from Auntie Chris, Uncle Steve and Leyla. Chris was looking for something to do with Layla and just thought it would be nice to come to Essex to see the family. So on Saturday we had a bit of a family BBQ which was really good fun and the 4 kiddies spent most of the day playing in the Jacuzzi. Then today we all headed in to Southend as Chris had not been there for years and wondered what it was like. The weather was just glorious with it being the hottest day of the year hitting nearly 24 degrees.

Southend was absolutely rammed and the traffic getting there was just horrendous. With the kids being off school, the Easter holidays and the hottest day of the year it appeared that every man and his dog decided to visit Southend Sea front. Anyway the kids all had a little play in the play area and then a play in the water fountains. We had a good walk around, a little go in the arcades and enjoyed loads of junk food including ice cream, candy floss, pop corn, slushies, sausage rolls and then they ended the day with a McDonald's (not very healthy!!!).

Anyway it was really nice to see the Norfolk relatives and the kiddies all enjoyed having Leyla stay over for a sleep over last night.

Brandon, Joshua, Holly and Leyla enjoying spending time in the hot tub.

Not much room for the adults to have a relax in the tub!

Holly, Mummy and Zoe.

Leyla pushing Holly through the water fountains at Southend.

Holly found it most amusing squatting over the fountains (if only I could squat that good at Crossfit!).

Brandon practising some karate kicks through the water fountains.

That's a high fountain Holly found.

Cheeky face but starting to get a little cold, time to dry off in the sun.

Brandon with Joshua's bum in the background!

Joshua with an alien blue tongue after having a rather sickly bubblegum flavoured slushy.

At the end of the day the kiddies enjoyed a McDonald's and Holly polished off all of her burger in no time at all.
