Day 3 Beach - Zoo - Dinosaur Isle - Park - Pier!!!

Yep day 3 was a pretty full on day which started off with a drive into Sandown on the East coast. The plan was to first visit the zoo however we arrived half an hour early. Since it was such a beautiful morning we decided to hit the beach with the boys. Fortunately for me I remembered to load the car with the buckets and spades this time.

Brandon starting to get brave and get closer to the water.

Both boys enjoyed digging the sand and then throwing sand and stones into the water again. Here is Brandon in action about to launch a missile with his right arm.

And finally a happy chappy with his bucket and spade.

Joshua was getting to grips using his larger spade for some serious excavation.

Is this a stunning photo or what, that water is like the surface of a mirror with the ripples of Joshua's feet orbiting around him.

Anyway beach time over and time to hit the zoo. Having spent a lot of time teach the boys how mummy, daddy and baby lion do there "roar's" - I think both boys were a little disappointed to find out that in reality Lion's are extremely lazy and just sleep!

This white tiger was at least walking around but no roar. The only slight roar they heard was a distant Siberian tiger who sounded like he had just woken up with a hang over.

In the petting part of the zoo Joshua got very brave by getting up close and personal with a goat. Brandon looked on with intent but because of his age it is recommended he does not touch livestock just yet.

Joshua watching some monkeys. The funny story hear is that one of the monkeys hanging from a tree was showing a rather large pair of testicles which Joshua thought was poo poo. He was most annoyed that the monkey did not ask for the toilet.

Joshua feeding his apple to a big plastic tiger.

As mentioned earlier all of the lions were fast asleep - even this two zonked out on a LandRover.

The zoo had a nice little park which Joshua played on, Brandon is absent from this picture as he was still eating lunch (no surprises there!).

After the zoo Brandon went for his siesta in the buggy so we took Joshua for a walk around dinosaur isle. Check the mouth of this T-rex skull and you should just about see me and Joshua.

Me and Joshia posing with a few of the model dinosaurs. They had a really cool animatronic dinosaur which Joshua could also control the movements of. Jurassic Park IV was in production with the cam corder.

Move over Indiana Jones - there is a new archaeologist in town!

Brandon woke just as we finished in Dinosaur Isle and then we stumbled across another park giving him time to stretch his legs out a little.

After the park we had a nice walk along the coast line up to Sandown Pier. On the Pier the boys went on a few more rides including this little train and the tea cups. The highlight of the pier for me was the bumper cars. I took Joshua on and he did all the driving pretty much on his own. He was smashing into everyone, doing donuts and generally have a real good blast. Unfortunately there are no pictures of this, only video clips.

Once back at the caravan the boys chilled out by having a knock around with the football whilst we prepared some dinner for them. Brandon even sported his England football cap.

Check in tomorrow for Day 4 updates. I bit of a chill day due to the manic first 3 days and the fact that Joshua was not eating too great.
