Adventure Island

With the summer holidays drawing to an end I have finally nearly caught up on all the blogs. Since returning from Cyprus I have still been taking the odd day off here and there to take the children out somewhere and to give Tina a break from having them all day, 7 days a week. Last Friday was such a day and we decided to all head into Southend to have some rides in Adventure Island.

Joshua had an absolute blast of a day because for the first time ever he could wear a blueband wrist band which pretty much meant he could go on all of the rides. Brandon was still a green band but he didn't seem to mind and to be honest didn't really want to go on any of the blue band rides. I think it is great that adults get to accompany greenband kids on the rides free of charge. This meant that most of the time 3 of us could go off on a ride leaving one person to look after Holly.

Joshua getting excited and ready to ride the stomach churning Vortex.

Joshua getting a bit dizzy on Vortex.

Unfortunately Brandon couldn't go on the water slides so Joshua had to ride these on his own.

He ended up going down the slides 3 or 4 times in the end and subsequently got a good soaking.

Adventure Island King.

Adventure Island Queen Holly.

King Brandon.

My two boys on the pink elephants.

Josh and B ride the jungle train. I think they are both getting too old for these sort of rides.

A pair of handsome Vikings.

Spinning barrel coaster.

Tina takes the boys on the Runaway Train.

Joshua gets his hands up high.

The two boys with a giant.

Me going on the Drop N Smile with the boys.

I think this should be called Drop N Lose Your Stomach.

All smiles at the bottom though.

Joshua on the helter skelter.

Brandon slowly makes his way down, The slide really wasn't very slippery.

Another little ship ride for the boys.

Joshua enjoying The Whip.

Tina and Brandon giggling away on The Whip.

I think the boys are also out growing these little penny rides (great news as it saves me a few quid!).

Princess Holly in her carriage with me folded up like an accordian to hold her.

King Lionheart Brandon.

Joshua Wellesley.

The highlight of the day for Joshua was without a shadow of a doubt being able to go on "The Rage" roller coaster. I purchased a couple of extra tickets so that I could go on with him for his first ride. What an amazing roller coaster. Nice vertical climb, negative drop off, complete loop, camel back plus various twists. Josh couldn't wait to go back on it even if it meant going on his own.

Joshua going back on Rage and dropping down the negative drop off.

Straight into the loop.

A few twists and a camel back to finish you off.

Another fun day out. Can't wait until little Holly is old enough to start going on some of the rides as well.
