Diggerland 2014

With yesterday being the penultimate day of this summer holiday, I decided to take one more day off of work and use up some Tesco vouchers to take the kiddies on our annual visit to Diggerland in Kent. I would say that over the years this was probably our best and most relaxed visit to Diggerland. We arrived there pretty much bang on 10am as the doors opened and then finally dragged the boys off the bumpers cars at 4:55pm to give them 5 mins in the shop before the park closed (so we got our monies worth!). Brandon is now over 1.1m tall which made a huge difference. It meant that he could pretty much go on all but 2 or 3 rides on his own. In the past an adult has pretty much had to go on everything with him. This made it so much easier just allowing the boys to go off on the own on the rides whilst we looked after and entertained Holly. Anyway loads of great photos from this top day out, so enjoy.
Brandon got the first ride of the day with me on the dumper trucks. Despite these going very slow you still need to be 1.4m to drive them on your own.
As you can see the park was rammed as Josh joined the really long queue for the Giant Diggers!
Joshua had great control of the digger and made a rather large hole.
Josh on the giant digger.
For Brandon's first go on the Giant Digger he sat with me. But I barely touched the controls and he was doing a fantastic job.
Birds eye view of Brandon in the giant digger.
Brandon applying his new learnt skills to a slightly smaller digger.
Tina and Josh on the dumper trucks. I am sure he could drive these on his own.
Brandon digging for bricks.

On the "Skittles" diggers Joshua seemed to be a bit of a natural. He was clearing all the pins in no time at all. In fact he was so quick that the woman operating them started to time him. His best score was a record breaking 44 seconds for all 10 pins. He was knocking all 10 down about 4-5 times in the time it took most other people to do it once.

Joshua was a superstar on "Skittles" clearing all 12 pins in 44 seconds.

Then onto some duck dipping.

Brandon struggled with this one but he did eventually hook one duck.

Race on, the two boys side by side on the diggers.

Brandon looking a bit nervous before his first go on the very bonkers "Spin Dizzy".

The view looking down on the digger as it spins you around, higher and higher.
Brandon enjoying the ride.

Joshua's turn for a go on Spin Dizzy.
Unfortunately there is very little that Holly can do at Diggerland. But I did give her a little push around on the pedal tractors.

Giggling away as he takes the JCB through a mud dip.

Brandon went on the little JCB's with Tina at first, but as you will see later in the day he managed to drive these bad boys on his own and did a fab job.

Probably the only thing that we noticed that had changed at Diggerland from last year was the train. They had modified the kids barrel seats and including a ladybird carriage.
My boys in the barrels ready for a train ride around the park.
And they are off.
Cute little Holly enjoying some time in the indoor soft play area.
A great picture of all 3 of our beautiful babies.

Tina and Holly enjoying a bit of sunshine.

Joshua and Brandon absolutely loved their day out at Diggerland and said it was one of the best bits of their summer holiday.
Joshua and Tina off to get muddy.
Brandon proudly showing us that he is now over 1.1m.
"Dad, am I tall enough to go on this one yet?".

Being bounced through the dips and mud on Ground Shuttle.
Finally Brandon drives the JCB's on his own. He took his time and did absolutely amazing as these joystick controls are tricky to steer.
He seems to small to be let loose in a JCB on his own.
All the way around the course without any help at all.

So another great family day out comes to an end and the boys have just one more day before going back to school as Year 1 and Year 2's. I think they will continue to want to come back to Diggerland each year but poor Holly needs to grow somewhat. Unless she gets to 0.9m which will probably be when she is about 3-4, she can't really do much here other than getting frustrated watching her brothers having fun.
