Under 7 Tiger's Pre Season

It has been a busy pre-season for me as a football coach and for Joshua's Under 7's Tigers team. We have had multiple friendly games and tournaments to try and get the team as prepared as possible for their first ever season in the South East Essex Mini Soccer League. The pre-season has had some real ups and downs and has taught us an awful lot about our formation and where best to play all of the players. I think we are as ready as we are going to be for our season opener against a very tough Leighwood United next weekend.

This weekend the Tiger's had their final pre-season preparation with the Trinity football tournament in Southend. We arrived bright and early Sat morning to register the team for 8.30am ( a great way for me and Tina to spend our 17th wedding anniversary). Anyway we found out that our boys had been put in a group of all "Lions" level teams with us being the only "Tigers". Needless to say our expectations suddenly dropped and we were expecting a bit of a tough event.

The team performed out of their socks and we couldn't have asked for anymore from them. They came away with 3 wins and 1 loss (that only loss coming against our own Forest Glade Lions). Even in that loss we completely outplayed the Lions in the first half taking an early lead and then holding them to a 1 - 1 draw. Although our Tigers lost that particular game in the end, our head coach (the Lion's manager) called our Tigers over at the final whistle and commented how proud he was and just how well they played in the first half and that they had him really worried for a while! So great feedback for them and a huge boost in confidence.

Our 2014/15 season FG U7 Tigers, Ethan, Max, Alfie, Alex, Ryan and Joshua.

Such a great group of lads who have come together as a very strong team standing their own against the Lions.
Joshua in action as he makes a play down the wing.
More action from Joshua as he prepares to get stuck in for a tackle.
Joshua and Ryan on a rampage.
Our FG U7 Tigers proudly wear their medals after completing a very successful pre-season tournament and coming 2nd overall.
