Joshua's 7th Birthday

Well a very happy birthday to Joshua who turned 7 years old today. It seems like only yesterday I was driving him home from hospital and here we are 7 years on and he now has a little brother and sister as well. Thank you to everyone who sent best wishes, cards and presents to make his big day special.

Like Father like Son he actually opened his first presents a day early. But there was a good reason for this. Auntie Lisa and Uncle David were in France for the weekend and so they dropped their presents off last night. So his first present was a really cool artist set with canvases, easel, acrylic paints, brushes and much more. Later that evening he struggled to get to sleep with excitement and then woke at 5:30am wanting to get up and open his presents.

Joshua tears into his first present a day before his birthday.

Loads of art equipment, just what he had on his list.

Despite it being late he couldn't wait to get cracking on his first masterpiece.

All smiles. The pencil outline is complete and now tomorrow he can paint it.

Joshua's main present this year was a E100 Razor Electric Scooter. Its exactly what he wanted and has been asking for, but I am a little concerned with a top speed of 10mph. Fingers crossed he doesn't end up in A&E on his birthday.

Last night me and Tina wrapped up his presents ready for the big day.

7 TODAY.

Hopefully Joshua wasn't too disappointed with his football kit as I know he really wanted West Ham and when he first opened it and aw the colours he thought it was a Hammers kit.

We all know Joshua likes his fishing and in particular Robson Green. So for his birthday we decided to give in and buy him a proper starter fishing rod set instead of the roach pole he has used to date. Later in the blog I'll tell you just how our first experience with his new rod went!!

Robson Green (I mean Joshua) pretending to get a catch with his new rod.

7 TODAY. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOSH.

7 years old or 77 years old.
Straight after breakfast Joshua was outside and testing out the Razor. A few wobbles at first but in no time at all he was up and running and zooming around the estate.

First test drive of the new Razor scooter.

Whizzing past the house at 10mph.

Once Joshua had opened all his presents it was time to go football training where he also took sweets for all his team mates. After football we treated Joshua to a birthday meal at the Harvester and I think he ate more than me (which is saying something especially giving that I am carbing up for tomorrow's marathon!). Anyway after the Harvester Uncle Michael and Lea visited and then I was dragged over the park kicking and screaming to test out the new fishing rod.

We were limited by time as the boys had a birthday party to attend too at 6pm. After about 15-20 mins we hadn't caught anything and it became pretty apparent that neither me or Josh could really operate the rod. Needless to say we had a few quite severe tangles to sort out which was then compounded when Brandon snagged his Roach Pole and snapped he line. So all in all it wasn't a good fishing trip.

Joshua's first proper fishing rod. Check out the new Forest Glade tracksuit top as well.

Joshua chose an Avengers birthday cake for this year.

Joshua is getting old hat at the birthday cake candles nowadays.

It must have been a bit weird for Joshua today as it was his birthday yet he was invited to one of his friends birthday parties! The party was another gymnastics party at the Sporting Village so given that he has played two hours football plus gymnastics, I think e will sleep well tonight.

So his birthday will now drag out to the end of this week as his pool party is not until 26th Oct. I think I am looking forward to that more than him.
