Bonoween 2017

A little bit late with this blog update regarding our annual Bonoween event which took place last weekend. The event was changed up a bit this year with the venue being moved from our’s to Nicky’s and also Auntie Chris, Steve and Layla joined us as they were down for the weekend to extend Holly’s bedroom. Everyone made an effort to dress up and looked amazing. Nicky hosted very well and had some really scrummy Halloween recipes of which the top pick and winner has to be the stuffed peppers (which I really must get the recipe for).

Joshua can claim the 2017 pumpkin carving champion dethroning his Dad (previous multi-time champion!). Although his pumpkin had actually gone really mouldy as it was carved a week earlier and subsequently he had to make a photo submission. We skipped the pumpkin throwing competition this year, although Joshua did throw one of Holly’s smaller pumpkins out on the path which then drew the attention of a very tame and very hungry fox. We had all the usual fun with sparklers and then Uncle Steve decided he wanted some fireworks so we headed out and got a £60 box of fireworks which the kids seemed to really enjoy (not sure Nicky’s dogs were too grateful though). We also managed to send up a nice big rocket and a few Chinese lanterns in memory of Mum.

We 5 King's all dressed up for Bonoween.

So Holly gets a little burn on her arm but sits there having cuddles with the ice pack on her head! Go figure.
